  1. At least for now we can breed them. Since rabbit breeding does exist it would be neat to be able to domesticate them as a quickly reproducing source of redmeat. since they are the only non-tamable wild animal that can be bred by the player, it would make sense that they would eventually implement a proper way to domesticate them. Maybe they will add either a new trough, or allow us to fill the already existing small trough with veggies and grass for the rabbits. I like the idea of making a little box or warren for them to hide inside and reproduce similar to how chickens work, except since the box would have walls and a roof, the rabbits wouldn't get spooked by the player like the chickens do.
  2. I cant seem to find the mod your talking about, but I do think the Aurochs would be a good fit, Heck the painting that can be found in game that is titled "Cow" resembles an aurochs. Also the many cow skulls also resemble them. my guess is they may have something big planned for them, like they might be able to pull carts or pull farming equipment to either till soil or act as an upgraded scythe, rather than just be a bigger dairy animal. If this is the case, then it would make sense why they're not in the game yet, as there would need to be a mechanic for pulling equipment, but it would be really nice to get them earlier so we could start domesticating them.
  3. Youd most likely have to make a smokehouse. Also this may help you out, but cooking meat does extend its lifespan. cooked meat has at least twice the lifespan as raw meat and it last for quite a while in the vessel. its obviously not a long time, but its something. Smoking meat in real life is far more complicated than it is in games like stranded deep and green hell, and since vintage story focuses on making things highly interactive, the process of smoking meat may be similar to charcoal pit burning, or large-scale kilns where you need to build a structure and do it correctly. If you don't want to put in effort don't play this game. Thats the whole point of realism, this game is like if Minecraft actually required skill to progress and had thoughtful and engaging game mechanics that prevented you from being bored by not being to easy, but also making many of the mechanics highly interactive and satisfying. Sorry if this sounds mean but this game is very complex so every thing is going to be like that. One of the plans is to eventually get rid of the crafting grid and replace it with something more fun.
  4. They did, and their absolutely terrifying, but they have a reason to be OP. Because bears are OP, you don't get the title of apex predator without being an OP powerhouse. I will say I really do like how big they are, but also oh my goodness they are freaking terrifying to encounter, especially when it just charges at you out of nowhere because you didn't see it sleeping in the leaves, and they are BIG.
  5. I really like how there's a bear and rabbit for just about every climatic environment, and I was wondering if the same could be done for other animals. Specifically, raccoons. I was thinking there could be a variant or reskin for this animal in other environments A Honey badger in the sub-Saharra/ savannah (I feel like this one should attack and run when you get too close) A red panda or tanuki for the tropics and jungle and wolverines for the colder environments (I think this one should be openly hostile)
  6. Out of all of the animals I would like to see in game, the only one I would sign a petition for or donate for is the cow. Yes, I could suggest animals for this game all day, but the only animal that actually feels like its missing is cattle. There's pictures of cows and cow skulls and literal vintage beef, but no cows. Even if there not coming anytime soon, I would really like to know if there are any plans to add them, because the sheer amount of cow related content and lack of cows has led me to believe that they have gone extinct. The lack of cows actually provides me with many unanswered questions, and I would really like to know if there are any plans to add them. Although This rant is mostly just a joke (having a cow over a lack of cows), I actually would like to know if there are any plans to add them

    Class survey

To be honest I usually just play as a commoner, The classes major advantage is not having any weakness. Also I voted the clock maker as the worst( how original) I really don't have a lot of problems with the classes, However the clock maker is just too specific. that class has a incredibly niche role.
  8. I saw the hawk in the discord. here it is
  9. I was kinda hoping we would have FLYING birds in 1.15 . I was really excited for that hawk. Of course it was stated that there will be several other things added in the next few weeks, so i still have some hope for that, but i just wanted to clarify if Im going to need to wait a bit longer before i get to see birds flying.
  10. Ive been searching for a while now and i really just want to find bees
  11. Thats one thing i can agree on. Although i do love stardew valley, the animals dont have any Ai or special care requirments. In VS, i not only have to domesticate my animals over the generations, but i also get to see how my animals become more tame, My gen 4 hens dont flee from me when im 4 blocks away. The animal behavior is very advanced, and every animal is kinda different. The boar i lured into a pit on day one has never attacked me, but many wild ones try to kill me on the spot. I have to closely manage my sheep to make sure they are eating enough so they can breed, while also trying not to get killed by them. when i introduced a very colorful rooster into my coop, my other rooster started to fight with it, and me. On the other side of the spectrum, this is the only game that has made me worry about my plants, for i need to make sure they dont die. In the end this game is great, and I cant wait to see some new animals in the next update. Although cattle, and beast of burden are not confirmed, at least bird flocks , expanded farming, and cooking are.
  12. Don't forget commoners, Their perk is that they have any downsides.
  13. personally I like that 1.15 is going to focus on homesteading. Its going to provide quality of life improvements to the already strong parts of the game, along with fleshing out the eco systems of the world. Ive never had any issues with the biome diversity, but ive had minor issues with how biomes that should be abundant with wild life are barren. I honestly cant wait for the bird flocks. I feel like 1.16 should focus more on the lovecraftian aspect. The combat update should either come with it, or come after it, for there is no reason to add on to it when the world only contains 2 monster types, with only the saw blades and bell locust being fundementally different. The lovecraftian update would not only introduce new mechanics, but would add on and flesh out the weakest and most underdeveloped part of the game(in my opinion) although more metal ages, further content to steel age, and more primitive mechanical technology is needed, I feel like this stuff should be added after the lovecraftian update, due to the fact that most people are not at that point in the game yet. Im 48 hours in and im still in the copper age. I feel like the oceans update should be added after the previously mentioned content, unless it can be added in the homestead update( witch im sure is not going to happen). Although fishing is usually a requirement in many survival games, I feel like it can wait. Most of the game play takes place on land, and although prettier oceans and aquatic fauna are pretty to look at, its not something that will add anything meaning full to the game. Im kinda refering to the minecraft aquatic update, although the games oceans needed improvement, the glitter and glamor of the new oceans and its life didnt really add any meaningful content to the game. It was cool at first, but it didnt really improve the game in any meaningful aspect, besides adding something nice to look at. Although other content was added, very few of the new additions were actually useful. I DO KNOW That if this game gets an ocean update it will be 1000 times better than anything mojang can crap out, however this entire rant is focused on how more important and meaningful content should come first.
  14. Ok this is very helpful. I will consider making a few traps around the forest so I dont get killed by the wolves. I actually discovered that they climb fast becasue during my first encounter, i decided to stand my ground with a sword becasue, I had the high ground. Having the high ground means nothing
  15. I feel like I can never enter the forest anymore, they come out of nowhere and they swarm me. Unlike the standard experience, My playthrough started in the middle of a large plain with small shrubs, that borders sandy granite and sandstone canyons, essentially I had not been aquainted with the wolves until the mid to late copper age. Now i really want bees, but the wolves prevent me from entering the forest. Is there any way I can get bees without the risk of wolves, or is there an easier way to deal with them.
  16. Also wolves should attack baby animals such as lambs and piglets, i dont understand why a wolf would eat a chicken, but not a piglet.
  17. Honestly I dont see anything wrong with the seasons, Ive played through an entire in game year now and my only complain is that spring and summer are practically identical visually. Spring could either use more color, or go for the muddy, wet, and misty look. Also the game is inspired by some horror games like silent hill, so the colorless, vintage anestetic fits the tone of a broken world better. Also when it comes to the livelness of the world, i feel like the dynamic animal behavior makes the world feel alive. This isnt minecraft, that pig isnt just going to sit there and humor you as you salughter its brothers and sisters, no its going to flee for its life or its going to try to kill you, heck in my world there is this one boar that always tries to kill me when ever i get even remotly close, yet this one pig that ive had lying around my base camp since day 2 has been the chillest pig in existence, its like its used to my player, unfortunately his offspring do not like me as much, I cant really confirm this but Im pretty sure that animals that are around the player more often become less likely to attack.
  18. I think the Bell locust is very well done. I love how its eye is inside the bell so it has to stop and balance so it can view its surroundings, Also I like the tiny underdeveloped legs that occasionally twitch on its body. i also love the realistic noises it makes when it hops around.
  19. In all honesty, I think the drifters have a lot of potential. In my opinion, they just need to be a bit taller so they can accurately stare into the players soul with there empty socket for a face. As of now they are the most dynamic monster I have seen in a game, for throwing a rock "could make them leave", but it dose not always work. one moment they could be mercilessly attacking you, and the next you can be mercilessly slaughtering them. I do agree that as of right now they feel like pest, but some day, this game will have some giant monsters.
  20. This is the only game that has made me appreciate doors.
  21. As I have played this game ive noticed that just about everything I feel should be added is already on its way, For example, I Know that fishing and large animals are already on there way because of the presence of bass and huge pelts in the creative inventory. I would have also suggest more lovecraftian based monsters, but due to the fact that more enemies have been added as of recent, Im quite sure that in the future the game will feature something taller than me. Essentially when ever i play this game I think of things the game needs, but then I quickly realize that their on their way. So here are some things that I would like in this game that don't seem to be on their way yet. 1. Wensleydale cheese. This is a big one, and Im honestly surprised it was not added with the other cheeses, Its a historical cheese from the 1150s that was originally made from sheep milk and is often filled with cranberries. Two things that already exist within the game. I feel like it would be a nice addition, along with the fact that its incorporating both dairy and fruit in the same dish. 2. Hot drinks. one thing I really like about this game is how foods emit steam when they are nice and hot. I personally like sipping a hot drink in the morning on a cold day, so why not add hot drinks. I feel like being able to brew teas in the pre existing pot would be a nice touch. Also having small scale fluid containers would be very useful for some one who only wants to remove small amounts of fluid from barrels. 3. being able to see the chicken chunks in chicken soup. I was a little disapointed that my ultimate chicken soup did not have any chicken chunks in it. 4. more drifter variety, in regards to size, Or just more enemy diversity. The introduction of new locust types was very cool (I especially like how the bell has its eye inside the bell), any way, the drifters are a really cool enemy, but their a little short. YES THEY ARE EXTREMLY TERRIFING IN THE CAVES where they can get through every nook and cranny to reach you, but the surface is a different story. There short. There stature works very well when it gives them the upper hand, but on the surface they really are not as intimidating. IM a person who knows his monsters, and the most intimidating ones are the kinds who are at eye level or taller than the player. How can the beast with the uncanny hole where the face should be strike fear if i cant gaze inside of its noggin. My point is that I feel that either A. their should be taller varients of the drifters that roam the surface. B. The drifters should be taller and lankier so they have a tall intimidating stature, but they can also crawl on all fours to reach the player through 1 block gaps so cave encounters are still hard to escape. C. there should be other enemies that accompany the drifters on the surface. At the end of the day this is only my opinion. I am Ok with the short critters, but I personally find taller creatures, who can sense me from a distance, more intimidating than shorter ones. 5. Water fowl. I like ducks, and they would make the ponds and lakes feel more alive and beautiful. along with having a new edition to farms. Conclusion, At the end of the day these are all just suggestions, maybe they are already planned, maybe not. Either way I will still continue to enjoy the game regardless of if these things are added, Its just that great. Me suggesting these features just shows how much I appreciate it and want to be part of its community.
