So basically hotsprings that you get to construct yourself? Nice idea.

This would be end game gear, and Jonas tech as well to make it rare, but basically the way it would work is that it would produce an exact copy of inserted item (down to the durability/freshness (if perishable) values) while consuming temporal gears as fuel. Additionally, it would not be able to duplicate select items, such as temporal gears, Jonas parts and rusty gears. The exact duplicate part is important as to not make "regular" crafting obsolete - if you want to copy a pristine item, you need a pristine item as a source.

/Serverconfig Option to Remove Player Nametags
JAGIELSKI replied to lauckster's topic in Suggestions
This would be great for roleplay servers where you want players to actually socialize and tell each other their name. -
Basically to avoid placing containers/tools and other ground placeables with wrong rotation/offset. Something like Rust/Ark/Fortnite/Valheim has would be appropriate. With stuff that are placed by clicking right click (e.g. containers) it would be displayed always, for objects that can only be placed with shift (e.g. tools) it would be only shown if shift is being held.

Allow us to place a door in the middle of a block
JAGIELSKI replied to ParallaxError's topic in Suggestions
Wouldn't that make gates obsolete? Though, I agree we should be able to place the doors anywhere in the block , not just edges, so that if someone has nice chiseled walls the door would still fit. And ditto for gates, really. I often wanted to make custom chiseled fences, but then gates wouldn't really fit so I've abandoned that idea. -
Setting mod development environment on Linux?
JAGIELSKI replied to JAGIELSKI's topic in [Legacy] Mods & Mod Development
OpenSuSE Tumbleweed, but that shouldn't matter too much. -
Currently the blocks "heal" after certain time when not actively mined. What would be neat would be for blocks to remember how damaged they were, that way you could Mark your way out from a cave by slightly damaging the stone around you without fully digging it out Return later to an area if your tools get too damaged and continue digging/cutting (for that, tools could be damaged as you mine stuff, not done in bulk after digging a block) Have pretty ruins that don't look brand new. During world generation some blocks could spawn already damaged, which would lead to prettier (and more realistic) ruins that have cracks forming on them due to their age.

Not sure if it's game suggestion or a mod idea here, lol, but it would be nice if instead of various food groups you need to eat to be healthy, it would be specific vitamins instead. Proper amount (or lack of) certain nutrients could affect the character's stats, such as strength, total HP, etc. While having too much of certain vitamin would lead to not so good health effects as well, just like too little of a specific nutrient would be bad.

I'd also would like a way to domesticate wolves into dogs. As for weather, gotta disagree with @LadyWYT on that one. If such effects would be added, I'd imagine there would be ways to mitigate it by building foundations from earthquake-resistent blocks, building stone buildings that would be barely moved by a hurricane/tornado, etc. Or just being smart and not build your place near a volcano or somewhere where earthquakes/tornadoes are common.

It would be nice if the game had a launcher that could automatically download and update the game for the player (with the option to download older versions) would be nice. My earlier mod browser and manager suggestion could also be handled by said launcher since it's best if mods are installed when the "main" game isn't running anyway. Except for the mod browser part, pretty much what that other blocky game has.

video Started a classic-style VS let's play series
JAGIELSKI posted a topic in Videos, Art or Screenshots
This is pretty much "noob's first time in VS" with passive mobs on and temporal stability off (might do some challenge runs later on on higher difficulties). Feel free to watch. There's also a playlist on my channel that will contain any further VS videos in this world. Not sure how long I will do this series for, as I'm a variety youtuber.-

Basically terrain slopes. This would achieve two things: It would make it look much less like modded Minecraft, which would keep not so smart people quiet. It would make navigating the world easier (you wouldn't have to jump all the time) The soil gathering would have to be changed as well, as it wouldn't make sense to get a full block when you dug a slope. To that effect, a new item would be introduced, dirt lump. Full blocks of soil would give 8 dirt lumps, slope would give 4 lumps (as it's half of full block) and slope corners would give 6 lumps. The low fertility soil block would be crafted by placing dirt lumps in the same pattern you place dry grass to create the hay block, the medium would be crafted from low fertility soil block + saltpeter/bone meal/potash (either of those will do), the high fertility soil would be crafted from medium, fertility block+compost. Terra Preta would be crafted as it is now.
