  1. The Wiki instructions are the standard method and it works perfectly to remove beams for myself on countless worlds and builds. In addition, the same method works for family and friends in the same way. You most likely have a mod or other setting that is messing with the standard beam removal method. But thanks for your snarky retort. Always good to see sarcasm from people that don't understand basic game mechanics.
  2. From the Wiki:
  3. This is not mine, but I found it awesome and inspiring.
  4. If you meant this, then yes. Vintage Story will not run without .NET
  5. Derped and didn't read the full OP. Apologies.
  6. Lightning (1.20.8 a while back) demolished my bank of 16 filled chests on the ground floor of a 2 storey building. All went up in fire. Happy days... Lightning rods were installed rapidly afterwards. The burn of hindsight indeed.
  7. Awe inspiring build! Much kudos! Is this chiseled or a mod? (doesn't look like chisel work???) If a mod, would you mind sharing which one please?
  8. Its location is not fixed, so it can be in different places for each world you play, irrespective of the world settings. If you want to check it out in the Wiki, it's called "Devastation".
  9. It's above ground, and large. It's a landscape area as well as a structure in the middle and yeah, it's visible from very far away. The story will eventually lead you there.
  10. I won't spoil anything intentionally, but that is part of the story/lore.
  11. Hello and welcome to the Forum! This series is pretty good and everything is explained in some detail.
  12. You need to find a certain Trader that will ask you to bring them an item. Once you give the item to the Trader, the story kicks off. The story mode and lore functions perfectly, even with temporal rifts disabled.
  13. Maybe try this mod --> Item Pickup Highlighter
  14. I always find it fascinating how different people organize their items in games like these. When watching some YouTuber's play VS, I'm often horrified at the disarray when it comes to housekeeping items and storage. For early game, of course it's fine to dump anything and everything in the nearest chest. I must note that I play with a mod that extends the chest inventory, so I don't require 9999 chests for stones, for example. How do you organize your items and storage? How do you categorize the different items? Below is my current (early) setup.
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum! The reason that some items don't stack is because they have different decay timers. This is a game function. Meat, fruit, vegetables and grains don't stack naturally. It is all based on how "old" the item is. Some foods decay faster than others. If you've killed an animal, and then 1 hour later kill another, the meat would not necessarily stack. The game will group the meat by "time killed". This is to encourage processing and using the meat you get quickly, before it goes bad, as in real life.
  16. EDIT: Derp... didn't realize there was already a mod for this. When I started my reply, only the OP existed and I didn't realize someone already replied with an alternative. Drop this zipped file in your mods folder. Quern woes begone. It replaces the hammer and chisel with simple firewood logs. Better than cheating, since you still need to craft the quern. Your mods folder can be found at: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData\Mods squern1.zip
  17. Might be good to mention which version of the game you're running.

    Bush Meat

I grew up on a farm (ranch I guess? for the Americans) and "bush meat" was always valued. When it was not required for direct food, it was used for the following: 70% - Feed supplement for the hogs. 20% - Filler for regular meals. (hard times) 2% - Bait for fishing. 8% - Bait for small predator traps (extermination/misdirection, not for food) That being said... I wish the game valued the "bush meat" aspect a bit more. It is more useful (in reality) than represented in the game. Realistically, you can boil and process any meat, in any dish (first hand experience) and have it being edible and somewhat nutritious. The fact that "bush meat" is ignored/nerfed as much as it is in the game is just frustrating.
  19. The traders replenished stock for buying is randomized, based on what type of trader they are, but you should be able to sell them the same things every time. Guess you were just out of luck that they didn't replenish the honeycombs that time.
  20. Maybe try the /entity command?
  21. Maybe try? https://www.vintagestory.at/support/
  22. This will likely enable people to share their login details with friends, enabling them to play for free, thus circumventing the need to purchase the game.
  23. It's three years later... pretty sure they've found clay by now
  24. They are very useful for my play style. Always felt that moose didn't drop enough resources. And "begone loitering bowtorns" is a welcome addition. Thanks for recommending these
  25. the unfortunately named download file for Real Grapes
