  1. Crafting from inventory and open chests would be amazing. Open the hand book, select the recipe, click on a button and if all the required items are in your inventory or an opened container, it goes straight to the crafting grid (there's a mod for that already). Go one step farther and allow the same from nearby closed containers and it would be absolutely awesome. Finally, allow it to be done for all containers in your whole claim and it would be .
  2. Everything is in place to have the player's backpack items drop to the ground as containers that do not despawn. Maybe a temporary belt container item could be created to store whatever is in the player's belt. There's no reason to lose our stuff to a despawn timer when we die. Something would need to be done about lava, it would be nice to not lose everything.
  3. Here are a few points that come to mind : - Combat needs a lot of love : - Give us iron / steel spears or polearms. We need a higher level weapon with a bit more reach that will last longer than a few hundred hits. - The current way to handle hits knock back doesn't really work, if a player or monster is near a edge and they get hit, they are literally sent flying, instead of being pushed back a pace or two and falling there. Same if you are hit from below, you just go flying up. - As soon as there is a bit of lag, its really hard to use projectile weapons, often the projectiles just pass through entities. If there is enough lag, projectiles can even float in the airs and not move for a while. - Make it so that dead bodies don't count when swinging, enemies can swing through them, why can't we? - Simplify land claiming (maybe with a craftable item for new players who just want to protect their dirt hut early game). - Eliminate the mob loot window, or add an option to turn it off and have items automatically picked up or dropped to the ground if the player's inventory is full. I may add more later.
  4. I have to agree with the no stamina comments. There's nothing I hate more than constantly waiting for a bar to refill. I want combat to be fun and quick. Waiting after an artificial constrain is terribly bad gameplay and turns combats into long boring slogs.

    Class survey

I'm surprised that the blackguard is rated so low. As others have said before, late game its by far the best class, and I would argue that starting with a blackguard is not that hard, since you can easily kill animals with it and feast on hefty meat stews that will keep you going for a long time. The drop rate penalty applies only to loot vessels, which rarely ever have anything useful in them anyway. My opinion is that the malefactor is the worst class because none of its bonuses matter mid to end game. At least the clockmaker has a useful rebate on TL repairs (though, again, I'd rather kill more drifters with the Blackguard and loot a ton of temporal gears, than struggle to kill monsters and save on temporal gears) and the tailor can make unique stuff (for now). The best class is either the blackguard, or the hunter (in multiplayer to avoid ore penalty). The blackguard is though, can take a beating and deals good damage up close, but nothing can even come close to the damage output of the hunter when chain throwing bronze spears (or even obsidian spears!). Everything else doesn't matter much, especially if you are a builder. The only thing that really matters is your character durability and the speed at which you can dispatch monsters when you get into battle. The tailor is special in that it can make unique items for now, so its in a different category, where you want at least one on your multiplayer server, and earns a silver medal for this reason.
  6. I'd like to argue for a 30% volume instead of 50%? I like to make slim walls with slabs and chisel some details in there. As soon as you remove one voxel from a slab, it would go below the 50% threshold and not count as a room anymore.
  7. Actually, the fastest way to proceed would be to make a pickaxe and a hammer (both 100 units). Then go back to where you found the copper nuggets on the ground and dig down, you'll find a copper deposit, mine it all then break the ore into nuggets with the hammer and with luck you'll have more than enough for an anvil AND a saw. Then its on to the bronze age. There's nothing wrong with the game in my opinion, but there's a lot you currently need to figure out on your own, which takes time, especially in single player. Playing on a server with other players helps because they can answer all your questions and share resources with you.
