  2. Which mod are you talking about? I never had to remove mod to know if an object is vanilla or not, the hover box or even handbook are enough. Here's some example on one of my 1.20.12 save :
  3. For me, I use a combo of an option in DanaTweaks that make resin visible on 4 sides and Particle Plus. I really like the Bark Beetle one but never used it because like bees, audio cues aren't enough for me, i need visual cues. But if SaltyWater one day add a similar feature as buzzwords, I think I would install it I think particle are not that bad, if you run around without paying attention you can still miss it.
  4. Hello, welcome to the forums, @daniel herring ! There are a bunch of launchers/mod managers on the ModDB (even a plugin for MO2). The roadmap indicate plans to improve ModDB but nothing about making a mod manager per se.

  7. When I was a kid, we weren't allowed to have console in the house, and the only computer games we could play was educational ones. And one day, my parents offered me my first pc game, Pharaoh, and my love for gaming and city builders was born. Even today I look fondly at that game, I still have the box, and I think somewhere a notebook with plans and cheatcodes for it
  8. Yeah, that's the one i'm talking about few messages above. Because of another mod, I have fat to spare so that is not a problem, but I get that you don't want to do that I think it is an okay food (but I think it could give fruit satiety too but that's a detail), but not really an early game one, because it need to cure and tends to rot if you try that out of shelves/cellar.
  9. If you search the recipe in the game files (survival/recipes/grid/pemmican.json), you'll see that the two versions are disable. You'd need to make a patch to replace the value false to true. Because i'm lazy and still learning, I use this, also because it makes the pemmican ground storable (also with a patch, but I haven't look how it works yet)
  10. Ah yes, there is pemmican in the files, but is not put in the game, you need a patch to make it appear !
  11. Hey, that's great that you are trying ! Thanks for that The only thing I tried to patch works (having the vanilla pemmican recipe use wildcraft fruits) but not exactly like I want (it disable the vanilla fruits for the recipe) and I can't wrap my head around why

  13. In most system I played with, if your character survive the larp, they gain experience points that then they can use to buy more skills that are available in the rules. For example if i play an alchemist with an alchemy skill lvl 1, i could be able to roleplay the creation of basic potions (defined by the rules, with ingredients provided by the organisation - usually false flowers, stuff like that), and if my character survived the larp, i could maybe buy the lvl 2 offering me better recipes to know. Of course it is not universal depending the type of larp you play, the format, etc. So, I think your definition of larp is correct if incomplete : there is a more-or-less rough script (the story), lot of improv (the interpretation) and a set of rules to complete all of that and make it work
  14. That's why I love From Golden Combs, their Ceramic Hive is really great in that extent. I don't even bother to go for the Langstroth (a bit complex for my taste), the ceramic one is all I need for my wax/honey consumption.
  15. I just add my two cents here, as a larper, that you can absolutely have character progression in LARP games !
  16. Overall I don't have anything against the new faces, they seems a bit more smooth than the old one. I think it doesn't really affect me because I only play solo and don't often change player view. But seeing Sormiel side-by-side comparison, I agree that the Kind and Grin ones are a bit too intense and that work less for me.
  17. I know of this mod, No Rust Creatures, and you can always toggle on/off mods in the game menu.
  18. If you are interested, there is a up-to-date mod that add lye and some fun stuff to do with it (potash, alternative to lime for leather, soap).

I could see an option to toggle it off, for people that has ophiophobia and maybe it could be the same option to have an alternative look for those terrifying locusts that terrify me even if i'm not arachnophobe. But yeah ! Wildcats ! I'm all for more critters. Even if the wildcats could also bit us for trying to steal their kittens to add to our home

    Roof Help

    I'd say the best is to test and retry on creative to see what feel the best for you, maybe try to see other's build and irl image of houses/towers/construction to take inspiration. Depending on what you want, checking on the traditional construction side could be also a source of inspiration. You can also see if making a roof overhang suits your aesthetic. And, as mattk2003 said, the roof material is important. Thatch is actually good on early game. I like slate too as an alternative to shingle. If only sod wasn't coming with aged plank texture, I think lots of my roof would be that (and that is in this case that One-Roof come handy).

  24. I'd say, 4 deep pit if it concerns bears, some of them have a 3 step height. An advice I haven't see, but something that has changed my life : learn to use rope ladders. They need maybe a bit a practice to handle them but it is time well invested. I agree. When I started, this point wasn't really the most difficult thing to handle. I think it is more necessary when you tweak how long are the months, like 12 or 20 days each.
  25. Hey, welcome to the forums @maplecoulis! For a peaceful experience, I disable agressivity from mobs, disable temporal storms, enable to keep inventory on death. And I never enable fire from lightening because I don't want my computer to burst
