  1. Oops, looks like i struck a nerve with my comment. I'm not saying Vintage Story has to be like every other survival game that we know of in today's age. That was an example of what simplicity could be. At this point, you're just assuming that I'm some kind of zombie-vampire-witch lover. Instead of all this temporal doodoo stuff, mobs alone could be enough. Not to mention a bed spawn - its pissing me off knowing i need temporal gears to set a bed spawn, thats just silly. That does not make much sense. You do realize I'm playing Vintage Story because its a better alternative than Minecraft, and any other survival game for that matter. I clearly just triggered you in some way, which was obviously not my intention. I was just expressing how i feel about the temporal stability stuff. I will not be commenting further on this, as I'm expecting another hostile response.
  2. OOh, yeah i can see what is meant here now. I guess i got a bit lost in translation, my bad. A backpack slot wouldn't be too bad.
  3. This post needs to be brought up again, as imo - the current mechanical power system in the game is kind of broken. I can understand that its not as simple as just increasing some numbers, but something sure has to change. From what I've seen from Vintage Story, they try to make the game as realistic as they possibly can (while of course still enjoying the gameplay). What I've done is create a windmill structure that seem realistic for a full set of sails and run axles all the way down to run the following equipment: Helve Hammer Quern Pulverizer I've been playing around with different setups for running all them at the same time, and efficiently but haven't been able to get anywhere. Either I'm being a dumbass, or something needs to be changed. EDIT: Posted a quick clip of what my setup looks like. The axles coming down from the top is the primary windmill The axles coming from the cobblestone walls is the secondary windmill and doesn't work as much, this is what i want to prevent, and just stick with one windmill.
  4. I've tested running a server on windows (10) and Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS) and both run fine without any problems. All i did was following the link above, best of luck!
  5. Ah yeah. For players playing with seasns, its a decent addition. For players playing without seasons, they wouldn't need really need warmer clothes, so its kind of a buff. With that in mind, i actually wouldn't mind this kind of feature, but only when seasons are enabled.
  6. I would say it would be a nice alternative to using the lantern off-hand, but i think it would need to have a down-side than using off-hand. I can't really think of a down-side, so might be better off not implementing this. I feel like it is too OP without a down-side to it.
  7. The amount of chiseling needed for this project is wild ':o
  8. Imo Vintage Story made the wrong turn when they decided to add temporal stuff to the game, as its quite a bit to learn just to be able to play with it on. I just feel like today's survival games are better off with simplicity, just basic zombies or other wandering mobs would be great. I've been playing with temporal storms and everything related to it off ever since i found out about it, i just find it a bit unrealistic. Don't get me wrong, it does add content to the game, but i just feel its been overly complicated for no reason at all - and the fact that it is possible to turn off, I'll forever be grateful for =D
  9. Welcome to the community. If you didn't know Silco already, then they is an absolute legend! Congrats and have fun. Use the wiki and in-game handbook to your advantage
  10. OP basically sent that and never re-visited the post again ':/ I might as well throw in my two dimes. I'm one of those people that try to play with as little mods as possible. I currently have 1 mod, and that is related to bed respawn, other than that I'm all vanilla. But since some people in this thread play with 50+ mods, i do wonder.. What do all those mods do? Are they changing the way the game is played, or how does it affect your game/world and most importantly, your frames /sec?
  11. This post speaks for itself, mad impressive. Good job!
  12. Aah. That sucks, perhaps something that could be improved. I try to stay away from mods for most games, as they can be the cause of crashes. But thanks!
  13. +1 That one has been bugging me when I'm running around, i could barely see past my own head lol.
  14. Is there an alternative to a bloomery? An item that i can craft and can be used over and over instead of the bloomery which i have to break every time i have used it?
  15. My question is a bit off-topic, but where can i find the roadmap?
  16. +1 The VStory developers should look into DirectInput API. Its such a struggle to change view.
  17. As a developer in other games, with former experience as a software engineer: I did want to create a very basic mod for Vintage Story. But after seeing the lack of documentation for the api/modsupport it really wasn't that tempting.
