I decided to start dual booting my Intel mac into Linux to play VS along with another game, I am finding I only boot into MacOS to access music production stuff now, linux is suiting me great for games, day to day stuff, and video production.

I did this, set my pit-kilns, ran off adventuring for a day, and came back to an immaculate lawn where my carefully trapped animal enclosures had once stood. for some reason one cockerel survived and I was able to re-capture him.

Immersive Wood Chopping, great fun and realistic.

I'd like to see this too! A quick plug for the butchering mod, if you don't mind a bit of visceral animal processing. It adds this honey cure with its prime meat, you can add cattails and honey, cure in salt, then smoke it, to add 6 health each time you eat one, The process takes weeks, it's well worth it when you go out adventuring.

Anyone getting seasonal depression during the winter months
Nick Salt replied to Titan The good's topic in Discussion
I take the opportunity of going questing and cave diving when I am not tied to the farm during winter. The first year is more of a drag when you are less equipped to go off having fun. -
I quite like the 1.22 forge work, I always have 2 or 3 pieces being worked on at a time, its great when I am tempering and reheating a few jobs, a jug of blackberry wine, some food, throw a bit more charcoal on, and work all night until well past dawn. I haven't got round to using fireclay to add durability yet, but looking forward to making my next hammer really OP.

I thought that might be the case, thanks for letting me know. I have a basalt area reasonably close, that might look like old iron when chiseled.

I need to hang some chandeliers from a very high ceiling, has anyone got a preferred method? I was hoping to use metal chain, is that possible?
-
Looks great! I'm a big fan of thatched roofs! Were you thinking of an outside forge with a roof? I built one that way in my current playthrough, but quickly had to add a walled courtyard so the bowtorns and drifters couldn't sneak up on me while I was on the tools. It's nice having a big safe outdoor zone right outside your house.

Bump... Is it done? Still collecting wood? Accidentaly set on fire? Lightning?

Does quenching work for ranged damage on spears ?
Nick Salt replied to Kociboss's topic in Discussion
I don't think it does either. I have 5 iron spears with different amounts of quench and it is only the hand combat stats that have changed. -
It's progressing well, going for a south facing lean-to type of thing, using the VS Roofing mod for glazing. I ran out of cattails so I've called it a day at this stage of building.

I've started the greenhouse in the northwest near that path. I've just been shopping at the local ruins for stone for the pillars.....
-
That's not my greenhouse, it's my great hall I'm building, I got sidetracked by looting tapestries and only living in a small cottage so I had nowhere to hang them. I've mainly built the hall now, greenhouse is definitely next...

Luckily I managed to sharpen a meteoric iron falx before the 4d grinder disappeared, bestowing the power of Dave upon the blade.

In your system settings do you have your computer set to "performance" rather than "balanced" (is that a thing in Mint?) I am running on Ubuntu and setting this option caused an almost rhythmical stutter. When I changed back to "balanced", it disappeared. Maybe the i5 cpu, which I also have, doesn't like whatever Linux changes...

I got sidetracked, decided to build a great hall first instead, I looted loads of tapestries and I need somewhere to hang them. Greenhouse is definitely next job this winter...

You're running Ubuntu right? Dotnet is available as a snap using the "app center" orange icon, looks like a shopping bag with an A on it. If you get a message about dotnet after installing then you have to find what the dotnet root directory is, and add a line to vs's run.sh shell script that tells vs where to look. For example I added export DOTNET_ROOT=/usr/lib/dotnet/ to my run.sh script.

I've got an idea for a mod, but I am not a programmer. I do have a media background and would be able to create the necessary content for the mod. I don't want to talk about it yet because I want it to be a surprise. Is anyone able to help? It would involve getting the game to play some music once something is happening...

Nice! Look forward to finding one of those!

Gonna miss those querns ngl Joking aside, thanks for the timely update

I haven't seen this happen in my worlds? Maybe you have a terrain gen mod that is causing the trouble?
