I have 0 idea, never heard of thought coals burn time when put on the ground. You know what, maybe you should investigate. Redo the test with all coals and see (I would gladly do it but I'm not on my pc).

Here's an old thread with new activity discussing a similar problem to yours : https://www.vintagestory.at/forums/topic/2029-connection-to-master-server/ Hope it helps.

Hello, Without looking too much into this, the crash might very well be due to a mod. Is there any issues with solo games? Did you check the version of your mods and those of the server ? As anyone else succesfully join this server ? Are the mods compatible with each other? Are they up to date with the current game version ? If I had to take a rough guess, I'd say it's the More piles mod, or another storage mod that interact with ground storage. Or just a modded item ground stored from on older mod version/corrupted. Please do answer my question so we can better pinpoint the source of the crash.

Hello. I assume you are using the Density Search Mode on your prospecting pickaxe, if so you should get readings in your info log with quality of ore deposits and percentages like the following example : Found 3 traces of ore in this area : Ultra high Magnetite (4,19%) Poor Limenite (0,67%) Miniscule amounts of Graphite, Native copper This reading tells you that there is a high opportunity to find Magnetite in the area, with the percentage actually being parts-per-thousand (4,13 magnetite ore in a thousand block in this example). You could interpret those readings as Magnetite having a ultra high spawn chance in the prospecting zone, with the parts-per-thousand being the quantity. If you want to find copper, you should do density searches on a large scale, with each reading being 160 blocks apart, or less if you want more precision. Don't be afraid to look far away if you don't find anything interesting near you. I'll also say just in case, that under the bits of copper or other ores you find on the surface, there is always an ore deposit not to far down generaly. The readings will also stay on your map, here you can see the mess i've made (red means very few ores, green means high ores) : In my case, I've wasted many prospecting pickaxes trying to find and outline the high density zones. You should to it in a grid pattern, with each reading spaced by 80-160 blocks as for best results. On a side note, there is an alternate mode to the prospecting pickaxe that is not activated by default, called the Node Searching Mode which scan ore deposit in a set search radius. Useful in caves and/or in tunnels dug by you. You'll need to enter this command : /worldConfig propickNodeSearchRadius [0-12] 0-12 being the search radius.

Maybe log out from the game and log in again, it might do something.

It's just as l33tmaan said. But if you don't want to run around while fighting consider making a shield (if you can make one).

Hey back on this topic again. It's not really complicated, you just need water, lava and slabs. The obsidian creation does not consume the water block, the slabs are here for the first obsidian block to be quarried by breaking the second one. Then you can put whatever hopper system right under it (You can't place a hopper right under the first obsidian block because water flow through it and it will create an obsidian block, breaking the hopper). I'm sure there is optimization to be made be hey you get the basic idea.

Hello, I've tried and changed my crouch key to C just like you and it worked just fine. Try with other hard stones, and check if there's nothing obstructing your placement. Can't help you much on that one since I couldn't reproduce your bug. Try reverting back to the old controls and see if something changes, try restarting the game between changes.

You should ask the devs on the discord (I think they're pretty chill), they might share it with you.

Oh ok i get it now and yes as you said it is a pain to get without a generator. And i'm glad you could understand about this contraption. We might have to add some changes to the build but I wondered how applicable is it in survival ? In the original post he said that lava couldn't be moved, is it still a thing ? or can you find lava elsewhere than the bottom of the world ? I'm somewhat confident I could tinker something similar in creative but in survival ?

Hello, I looked at the post and I'm a bit confused but I think I understood some. When the lava source spill down, it will be in contact with the water source therefor making a basalt/stone block (I think). But if you place a water source right under it, it should make an obsidian block. I still don't understand why there's two basalt block under the lava source and wth is a quarried stone like it's a different entity than a stone. Sorry if this doesn't help much I'm not quite at that stage of the game yet.

Hello, I think it's quite logical and it's the same for other games with hotbars. Don't mistake scroll up for +1 and scroll down for -1, the numbers are for the ones on your keyboard. You're simply scrolling down a list of items, but instead of being vertical it's horizontal. Don't overthink it but if it really bothers you maybe there's an option for that.

There's no dark mode that I'm aware of. But I know there's 2 different themes on this site : The "Vintage Story (default)" with light brown beige color and green for the buttons The "Classic High Contrast" which is pure white. Normaly you should be on the first one by default but it doesn't hurt to check. The option for the Theme is at the bottom of the page next to "Privacy Policy". If you are already on the default theme then I suggest you to lower the luminosity levels of your screen if it hurts that much.

Faut que tu clique sur la section "Client Area". Cela va te rediriger vers la page de téléchargement. Après tu clique sur "Full Installer", ça va télécharger le fichier exe pour installer le jeu sur ton pc.

Passive Mode drifters/locusts won't attack when hit?
Giciel replied to RationallyParanoid's topic in Questions
I would say it's by design, since passive mode is made to have a better time playing. Drifters and locusts are the enemies in the game so making them harmless seems logical. As for the animals, well they're animals so I guess they're not really taken in account. -
Not possible from what I've tried. Once a meal is in a bowl, you gotta eat it or wash it out. You can only transfer food between cooking pots and crock pots.

I doubt you missed something because that would I missed it too .. I tried playing with other settings as I was changing the Window Border to see if it would save but in vain. I think this setting might just be a placeholder, but will actually work in future updates (maybe i dunno). Tho I don't why you would want to resize the interface windows as they are big enough in my opinion. In conclusion setting no worky ;(

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, Exept the fact to you must check that you are both on the same network and that the game version be the same, you could try to authorize manually Vintage Story on your Windows Firewall. I had this problem multiple times on Minecraft so it might resolve your issue.

Do other games work fine ? Or is it only Vintage Story, if so you might try to re-install the game and see if that change anything for you. Or see if you need to update or re-install your audio drivers. If none of that worked, the only thing I can do is link you a guide for this kind of problem : https://thegeekpage.com/audio-not-working-while-playing-game/#:~:text=Click on Volume icon in,Game Audio is not muted.

Did you look at Windows sound mixer to see if the game was outputing any sounds ? You would be able to see if the problem is the game or something else.

I don't think they can go over fences, just blocks. Tho I'm not 100% sure since all my fences are 2 blocks high now but a 1 block high fence should be enough (imma test). But yeah 2-3 blocks pillars are low enough for them to climb on ... learned that the hard way.
