Drifters able to set ablaze a base?

Just doing a play though online, and a TS came trough, ran to the base to defend and noticed the whole base was ablaze (Wooden walls inside with an outer layer of dirt) There was another player on the server, that said in the new update that drifters are able to set fire to bases now, this statement from a random player seemed suspect, but is that statement true about drifter being able to set fires, or was there sabotage involved. lol. Thanks in advance. :)

This is not a thing, no. Drifters do not set anything on fire. Not even if the drifter itself is on fire (you can hit them repeatedly with a torch for that).

I'm quite sure that the base was on fire because a pit kiln was too close to something flammable.

I appreciate the response. We figured that we were set up, but with updates of great content coming out, we both questioned the validity of what we were told. Again thanks!

Lightning strikes can put things on fire as well. Currently any POI in my world with flammable stuff in it has a lightning rod stuck in the sky nearby...

And let's not rule out sabotage, even though it is a low likelihood.  someone may have had an "Among Us" moment.
