Schwartz Prime
Dear Developers and anyone else who might read this: I have played solo and multi for around 200~ hours all together so far and will keep racking more hours. i have REALLY enjoyed what i have seen so far, and would love to see where the game goes, i got the supporter add on and convinced 2 friends so far to get it aswell, and they also had a great time, for now everything i thought should be improved is already marked in the roadmap being better food, more meaningful character classes (more exclusive recipies), improved lore (i even wrote my own little head canon from what i could gather), better combat system and more unique weapons you could make like spears, maces, clubs, two handed swords, smaller shields, etc) making potions and maybe even a thaumaturgy system you could explore in the later stages of the game, even more clothes because the fashion is great, and finally -maybe an easier way to work with the prospecting pick because me and my buddies had to remove entire mountains with copper picks to advance into the bronze age and that was a little bit unpleasant and really took the wind out of everyone's sails. (that being said i do acknowledge that the game is more towards a realistic approach in terms of advancing between the ages, but still) and that's really about it for now, i hope to post more i'm usually a bit shy when it comes to posting on forums but this game really blew my mind so much that i HAD to get it off my chest, especially after playing minecraft for like 12 years now and immediately finding this game to be better because the stuff you do actually feels meaningful and everything serves a purpose which creates a beautiful harmony where by the fact that i NEED to make a house to survive, a barn to keep animals, farms, i make works of beauty that really look amazing and are functional, which is usually something that minecraft does not provide, so thank you. -Hip
Manimal
I fully agree. This game is amazing. A suggestion for your prospecting issue though. I highly recommend watching videos on prospecting in Vintage Story. I'm 170+ hrs into my first world. At 100 hrs. I too, was very frustrated with mining. Watched a few videos. Now I'm well into the iron age. Finding everything I go looking for. Even have 2 ultra high Cass mines and gold mine. Only thing keeping me from steel. Is making refractory bricks. Lastly, yes, this game blows that other voxel game. Out of the water! I feel so much more accomplishment. After I complete a job in this game. It really is incredible. Thank you devs! Edit - PS: Well, I haven't found everything... Meteors, yes, Halite, NO. Halite absolutely evades me. I've been searching for it so long. I'm starting to believe it doesn't exist... Yes. I do have a healthy amount from traders. Just don't want to have to trade for it. Plus really want to find sylvite. Maelstrom
That is one benefit of a steep learning curve. The sense of accomplishment for overcoming a difficult challenge is unmatched!

And of course, not everyone will feel accomplished, some may simply feel exhausted and disappointed with such learning curves.
Maelstrom
Perhaps I should have added a *YMMV (your mileage may vary) disclaimer?

And of course, not everyone will feel accomplished, some may simply feel exhausted and disappointed with such learning curves. Probably true. On the other hand, part of the game (or, really, of most games) is doing the best you can with what the RNG gives. Most of my games end with level 1 refractory bricks, level 2 at best, and no halite, let alone sylvite. Maybe I'd like a slate roof, but if I didn't find slate, no big deal. Some other seraph in a future game will get the slate roof. In my early days of VS, I was often finishing up in copper -- you can make a quite functional farmstead using nothing above copper. For the most part, all you get for going beyond that is you collect resources a little faster. Who cares if you didn't get bronze if you have a barn full of happy, fat animals, productive fields, and more dairy and eggs than you can eat? Runeranock
Too much time spent on this game. Because yes, I think I've finally found the worthy successor to Minecraft. More mature, more beautiful, and clearly geared towards multiplayer. So of course, there are some small adjustments needed, but the road is long and full of hope. If I were to add a few things that have already been mentioned: The life in the oceans is obviously a bit empty. An increase in difficulty as you move away from the spawn point to always be on alert, even after progressing far in the game. Don't touch prospecting, it's perfectly balanced with just the right amount of chance and difficulty in searching for materials! Maybe rethink the claim system, which works but is cumbersome to implement (command line, not great for multiplayer). Adding lore, content, lore, content, etc... over and over again. Schwartz Prime
well, i agree with everyone, it's kind of funny, first save i had: -little copper impossible amount of copper, so little terra preta i was beginning to think it was removed from the game, second time playing with my friends on a server, the land is literally made of lime as far as the eye can see, a copper vein that lasted from the first day til mid winter, enough iron to build a house from it the moment we look for it, frankly the only reason we don't have steel is because i didn't bother looking into how to make it so far because i was making sure we all enjoy the iron age... and i also agree with the ocean needing some treatment, since the game is very... atmospheric in nature, im sure it'll get priority at some point but yeah, larger bodies of water, mayhaps shipwrecks with old seraph treasures, or a treasure map as loot, shark that would be scary and i love scary things... sorry if this post is a bit less organized than before, i lack some sleep
