Karidwen Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Can the hot springs be used for anything? If I build a max 7x7 house on it and have at least one block be open above the spring, will it heat the home?
Bumber Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Pretty sure they only heat stuff in contact with the boiling water. Good for killing drifters and other mobs, though.

Maelstrom Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Consider that a valid building provides thermal protection regardless of heat sources, like fire pits, pit kilns or hot springs. All that is needed is a sealed space of blocks and doors.

Gold Osburn Posted March 1, 2025 Report Posted March 1, 2025 I wish there is a way that you could artificially make hot springs or bath houses from these Hot Springs or just build on top of one where you can trap in the heat from the hot spring or you can make a steam room or a proper bath house where it can warm you up or heal you. I did see a mod that changes the effect where it heals you slowly. Healthy Hot Springs

It can be used to trap mobs, and they're shallow so corpse retrieval is easy. Someone has made a tutorial on youtube on how to use hotsprings as a mob grinder: You can also make a house over a hotspring to keep it warmer. 1
