Ludan
New to game, was panning boney soil and got copper chains. Info on the item says it can be made into 1 ingot but I have been unable to figure out how to do this. Could some one let me know please.
Solution idiomcritter Posted December 24, 2023 Solution Report Share Posted December 24, 2023 think a chisel and item in the crafting grid maybe?
Bumber
You also can melt them down directly in a bloomery. That's time and fuel inefficient for copper, though. Edited December 25, 2023 by Bumber

Hammer over chisel over your item in the crafting grid iirc, and it outputs metal bits that can be melted in the crucible or, for iron, bloomer-ized. You get less metal if the item is damaged. If you chop up an anvil this way, you get ingots instead-- eight of them for copper/bronze anvils, not sure how many you'd get from an iron anvil but also WHY, NO, STOP THAT. Ludan
hehe, ok. Yeah. I did say I was new! I got a few items from panning boney soil. I was trying to use those items to get my first copper tools. Now with a weekend under my belt and the replies here I understand you need metal tools to "reclaim" metal. I have to laugh at myself a little now, trying to jam a piece of armor or a bracelet into a Crucible to melt it down...
