ifoz Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) There is a clutter item in the game called the 'Ruined Stove', and it has inspired me to write this suggestion post. I imagine it could be interesting if you could make your own stove when you reach the iron age out of iron plates. You could then put the cookpot inside the stove and use it to cook meals faster than just using a firepit. Perhaps these meals could also have slightly higher saturation value than their firepit counterparts due to being well-cooked? If our Seraphs are progressing through the ages, why too can't their methods of preparing food? Edited July 12, 2024 by ifoz 4
LadyWYT Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 If not an iron stove, then at least an iron cauldron as an upgrade from the cookpot. It could hold twice as many servings, while still cooking at the same speed as the standard cookpot(ie, 8 servings will cook in the time it takes to cook 4 in a regular pot). It would be very handy for preserving winter food, as you can now cook three full crocks at a time, in addition to feeding several players at once in multiplayer settings. 2 hours ago, ifoz said: You could then put the cookpot inside the stove and use it to cook meals faster than just using a firepit. Or instead of cooking faster, make the stove more fuel-efficient, similar to how the distiller allows a single piece of firewood to burn for two in-game hours. And perhaps instead of meals being more saturating, food left in the pot could be much more resistant to spoiling, provided that the stove remains hot. Hunter's stew, in other words. 5
Thorfinn Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 Both cool ideas. I'd probably only build it once to check that off my list. My standard kitchen is more of a commercial setup -- 4 firepits and 6 ovens, usually, and that's hectic enough to keep me off the streets causing trouble . A few chunks of firewood makes a difference when you have stone tools, but by iron age... Maybe like your stove at home, you could place 4 cooking pots on the stove and cook them all simultaneously? And like your stove at home, that back corner one can be a bit tricky to reach at times. Would make a great mod, Isn't there one like that already, but from stone? This would be a more compact version of same? 1
