Jaken Posted August 10, 2024 Report Posted August 10, 2024 Hi there. So, after a long break from VS I started a fresh new world, and I decided to share a progress with You. I will try to make buildings as historically accurate as I can. Hope You will enjoy a journey with me. Spoiler For world settings I play on 30 day month, and a 10 day handicap, just to find a cool place to settle. Also stone collapse is active. Rest of settings are on default. Stone age It took me like 3 days to find a great spot for me. A lot of flat terrain, nearby forest, some ponds to make basic farm. Just perfect to settle. First nights looked mostly like this: Spoiler After a few days I build some starter A-framed house and a basic farm. Spoiler I'm actually pretty happy with this house. Simple design with easy accessible materials. It's not winter-proof, but I still have a lot of time Then it's time to prepare some workshop area to advance to a copper age. Spoiler It is just temporary build but it works, and feels much better than just a hole in a ground. Now I just need to find a good amount of copper and create more advanced tools. After that I can build a proper buildings and get rid of these ones Spoiler Let me know if I should add more photos as an edit to this post or add a new coment. Later 9
Thorfinn Posted August 10, 2024 Report Posted August 10, 2024 By all means, a new comment so it bumps to the top. 3 hours ago, Jaken said: Now I just need to find a good amount of copper and create more advanced tools. So the farm is a filled in pond? Nice.

Jaken Posted August 28, 2024 Author Report Posted August 28, 2024 Hello fellow vintarians. Here is some update. Copper age I finally found enough copper to make some basic metal tools and already started to build a first farmhouse. I can already see, that it takes a lot more copper than I expected. Probably I will try to make bronze or even iron before next build, but first I want to finish that one. Anyway, see the house below. It is still work in progress, but it already looks pretty nice. Let me know what You think. Spoiler Still need some windows, but for now it has to wait. I hid a water canals under half chiseled dirt blocks to make it less ugly Here will be a small storage room. I must say I really like a stair design. A kitchen will be most detailed one, but it needs time. Here is a little cellar to store some basic food. And a future bedroom upstairs. 8
Brady_The Posted August 28, 2024 Report Posted August 28, 2024 Nice beam utilisation. The oven, table and stairs looks very nice.
Alluvium Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Wait... you can build a thatch roof over pit kilns without it catching on fire?!
ClericalHeretic Posted October 5, 2024 Report Posted October 5, 2024 Bumping for excitement over bronze age pics

I think fire will only spread two blocks away. Looks like the roof is three. I've seen some crazy things happen though.
Feycat Posted October 19, 2024 Report Posted October 19, 2024 I really like your table and stairs designs, might steal that!
