I've not gotten an elk yet, but I'm wondering if it will be possible to pick up shed antlers, or if the antlers just disappear and being the process of regrowing.

The length of the antlers depends on the time of the elk in your possession. The longer you have him, the longer the antlers grow each year. Sadly shed antlers cannot picked up yet. 1
