I've only been playing a few hours on a 1.20 updated world, where I'm tooling around in a primitive building in early bronze age. Twice now I've noticed drifters spawning during daylight. Rifts were nearby. The first time was during rainy weather, so maybe lighting conditions dropped, but the second one was in clear sunny weather. No caves around. Anybody noticed this?

I've had a shiver and a drifter spawn in bright sunny times.  The shiver spawned on an apocalyptic rift activity day.  I don't recall the rift activity when the drifter spawned.  And yes, I watched them appear in the world.

Heavy rain, yes, in several of the pres. Never noticed it in bright sunlight, though there were bowtorn emerging from caves in bright sunlight, and shivers running around in broad daylight if I didn't despawn them..

Have not played very long on 1.20.0 yet, just a couple hours, and I wasn't exactly watching because all but the shivers are too slow to even notice while sprinting about, but, no, have not seen anything like that yet.

I had an issue where drifters were spawning in the flat land I made immediately around my base in broad daylight. I eventually just turned off drifter spawning until I was ready to go caving. My rift activity was low and there was a singular rift portal from my house like 30 blocks away

I had the same issue, an incredible amountof surface drifter spawning before my eyes for no reason. I figured that the problem was turning off temporal stability so I had put it back and things got back to normal.
