Chuckerton Posted April 11, 2025 Report Posted April 11, 2025 (edited) I built a warehouse for bulk storage and i think it, for the most part, turned out well. The interior is great, and the first floor exterior is fine enough (doesnt look as good in the screenshot from this angle), but the second floor exterior... Its rough, its bland, and im not really sure whats goin on with the weird lines, i built the wall with vertically placed half slabs so maybe thats whats wrong. Any ideas on how to improve it? Michael Gates Posted April 11, 2025 Report Posted April 11, 2025 Run support beams across to cover the lines in the stone, and maybe some diagonals? But really, warehouses LOOK like this. Huge blank wall with maybe one window in it, this is typical. If it were daytime I could walk over to the couple warehouses in the neighborhood and take photos for you, but they're incredibly bland and boring anyway
Brady_The Posted April 11, 2025 Report Posted April 11, 2025 (edited) The support beams and the windowsills are already a nice touch. You could add loading doors with hoists on the second floor to break up the monotony a bit. If the space in front is not optimal for a second floor loading dock, you also could add it to one of the sides. That'd break up the box look a bit. The second image is a small rough scene I created for a picture, which would have been blurred and which I didn't end up using, so I didn't put too many details in. You could also add ladders to it, outside steps, some vines to break up the wall texture. Spoiler Spoiler Edited April 11, 2025 by Brady_The
Maelstrom Posted May 1, 2025 Report Posted May 1, 2025 Looks like you're using granite. Try mixing in some granite drystone and suevite cobble stone. The different textures and suevite's darker shade will help break up the monotony of the granite cobble.
Human17 Posted May 2, 2025 Report Posted May 2, 2025 That actually looks great! You could plant some plants around, maybe add some creeping vines? Change up the brick texture in places?
Thorfinn Posted May 2, 2025 Report Posted May 2, 2025 I think the only way to spice it up in vanilla is to fill it with salt.
Tom Cantine Posted May 2, 2025 Report Posted May 2, 2025 Don't bell peppers exist, though? And onions?
Thorfinn Posted May 2, 2025 Report Posted May 2, 2025 You are right. I forgot about onions. But I don't think bell peppers do. Not ATM. Maybe you can get them in creative, but I don't think they are a game thing.
