I just started a new playthrough and it is humbling me when it comes to wild crops. Normally I have 30 flax seeds by now and I have 3! I have beautiful open grasslands where normally I would be picking crops up left and right, but not this time. Just grass as far as the eye can see. No flowers either. That is at least the one thing I have noticed, where there are flowers I can usually find some wild crops but there are few areas.

Hmmm, which version and have you tested a few other worlds to see if maybe it's just a bad seed(hardy har)? I'd check your modlist too, if using mods, in case something there may have gone awry.

Just bad luck. I played a few hours on the same version and mods a couple days ago and had wild crops everywhere. I always tell people they need to look harder when they post they can't find wild crops. Now I might have to believe them. Ive got a small garden up and running but nothing like I normally have.

Same. I had exactly no flax seeds by the end of day 2, when I'm usually rocking at least 3 linen sacks. Started wondering if that had been changed, but went over one more ridge, and wild crops everywhere. More than a stack and a half of flax seeds that day.

Keep the faith, I guess.

It's more the flax than food. There are always plenty of bears and wolves to fill up the food bar!

I had noticed this too, but then realized that wild crops don't really grow in the areas where it rains 'basically all of the time'. As soon as I got to a tad drier area I found a lot of them.

That was my problem as well. I don't think I've ever tried to live in a area that it rains all of the time. That would be pretty annoying as a new player. It would make the game seem much harder since you can't find crops anywhere unless you travel outside the area.

I had this happen recently. High rain everywhere, there were berry bushes and empty fruit trees but no crops at all. Thirty-five hours, in and searching all the time over an extensive area I finally found a small patch of rye grass. By then I had gifted myself a few basic seeds, but the monotony was depressing, I gave up and restarted.

Welcome to the forums. 35 hrs in and no crops, ouch that's painful.

I have started new playtrough two weeks ago and got similar luck. A lot of rye and spelt, but minimum of flax. I though that it was due to granite everywhere around, but after about ten days of gameplay, I have moved to another island (playing with landcover 30%) and there was... the same granite, but flax was abundant. So really, it is just bad luck.

Started my first playthrough the other day, the seed I am on around where I am building is like the valley of plenty, sea of red and blue clay, wild spelt, rye, onions, turnips, carrots, flax all within walking distance. Think it's just bad luck sadly.
