Leazira Posted June 17, 2025 Report Posted June 17, 2025 I was traveling to the village of history when I saw this formation, very good for a base in my opinion but I already have a house. 6
TheMightyMagus Posted June 26, 2025 Report Posted June 26, 2025 The world generator can make some pretty awesome terrain.
Maelstrom Posted June 26, 2025 Report Posted June 26, 2025 These pictures always makes me think there was some horrific erosion that went on. In this case that horizontal line of soil emphasizes that impression for me.
Thorfinn Posted June 26, 2025 Report Posted June 26, 2025 Sandstone, shale, granite, peridotite, chert?

Thorfinn Posted June 27, 2025 Report Posted June 27, 2025 Could be. It's a little bit light colored, but brightness might not be at defaults, or .recordingmode.

I believe those are peridotite, slate (cold dark brown), chert (rusty brown) and sandstone with occasional granite (neutral gray) above peridotite. Shale is a dark gray rock, and andesite has blue-ish color, I don't see any of it there. That's a great find nonetheless, both the scenery and rock types! Would be absolutely lovely place to settle in. 2
Maelstrom Posted July 1, 2025 Report Posted July 1, 2025 Both andesite and granite (especially granite though) shift shades for me depending on lighting.

If it doesn't have locusts swarming out of that overhang and falling in the water, it's a deal breaker. Seriously, I'm not getting why I run into SO many of those. At least one or two a game. "Hey, that's a cool overha... Oh, locusts. Never mind."

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw that screenshot. It's beautiful, but why are they always locust-infested? Been that way since /I/ started playing this game
