More uses for resin?

Currently, resin is a pretty useless item as it is only used to craft one type of armor. Are there any other applications planned? Maybe as a substitute for fat in oil lamps or sealing crockpots?

If it becomes used in more stuff I'd like to see it become easier to come by

It's also there for mods, and may be used for other stuff in the future. No promises though.
