However, I have one idea. Everything should be significantly more spaced out, but also larger. Landforms should be huge, so you have to circle mountains, dangerous forests, or bodies of water that span hundreds of blocks, perhaps thousands. Resource deposits that you need ( iron, tin, etc. ) should be rarer and further away from each other, but this opinion is likely formed from me being stupidly lucky. That, and I'm fine with prospecting for full in-game days. I like the concept of having to travel long distances to get what you need, encouraging the construction of outposts and forcing you to actually prepare for a trip down to the iron mines far away instead of just walking into a tunnel, in and out. Exploration would be less of a "walk around and discover stuff" and more of an actual adventure. On paper, that is. I might be proven wrong in practice, but I won't know until I try at some point, somehow. Somewhat doable already by tweaking landform scale, landcover, etc... I think Rivers mod (and Watersheds) helps a lot too for giving more scope/scale to the world and justifying longer trips or building more infrastructure projects. I'd also suggest looking into reducing surface deposits in settings since it makes locating resources a bit more tedious/involved (at least till you get a prospector's pick). Otherwise agree on the need for more world-gen spacing/depth, but I suspect that will come when rivers become a vanilla feature 1

I was really confused for a minute there reading what you quoted from my post. I was asking myself, "Why did I post that in spanish?" Fortunately, that dull light finally went off in my head and I figured it out.

BoglimZero Posted July 10 Report Posted July 10 I actually hate the music in this game. This is the one and only aspect of that OTHER block game that is far superior to VS. Literally everything else about VS is superior, but the music needs to go. I legit cannot play the game with the music on, and resort to creating my own playlists to play in the background if I'm in the mood for music while I play. The music is just too cartoony. It's like I can tell the vibe each track is going for, but all of them just miss the mark. This extends to the tones chosen for each track as well as the compositions. I could do much better. 1

This looks like very specific kind of challenge, that may push the player to stay in the early ages much longer. It is also pretty more realistic and based on history, as e.g. late bronze age East-Mediterranean civilizations had to establish trade routed for tin, as they did not have good deposits in their areas. As other mentioned, it may be achieved by making landform scales bigger, resources rarer and distances to story locations farther. Also, landform mods are mostly going this way, especially combined with increased world height. Maybe, such kind of gameplay would be much interesting for multiplayer. 5-10 thousand blocks spaced but bountiful resources would lead to establishing mining towns specialized on tin, iron or even silver or gold. For this, however, these deposits should be not only much rarer, but also much bigger, so finding e.g. gold mine would suffice needs of tenths or even hundreds of players. Some very small deposits may be still found elsewhere, but they should be really tiny. Here, rivers should play significant role, as they may be source of small secondary deposits of these ores. And if we want to play it big, then secondary deposit should mean that there is maybe some rich primary source somewhere upper by the river - that would make prospecting much more interesting and realistic... But it means to build complete ore generation from scratch.
