I'm so glad to see progress is being made on this ! A VR mod seems like a super fun idea for vintage story, bears already scare me base game so this would make it even more ✨immersive✨.
I'm sorry i can't offer anything but support, you got this !

to make it a lil easier u can take exemple of the Minecraft VR mod: Vivecraft.

u can look at how it binds key for the Vr controller and do the same for VS

idk if it will be hard to script, i know nothing abt that

I think the inventory control is what one should focus on first and foremost. I think for VR that is the main weak spot. For example, I have 7 stacks of something I want to put in a crate, ok, so I remove 7 things from my hotbar, put all 7 stacks into my hotbar from my inventory, then I Cntr+Shift (how I have mine set up) and put all 7 stacks away.

Now..time that UI interaction, can it be done faster in VR? I doubt it but if I was to work on a VR project something like that example is what I would try first, before anything else.

New Discord link: https://discord.gg/QaWpDWnvb   (up for 30days 100 uses to prevent bot issues)

Finally, v1.0.0 is now downloadable there.

The full game should be fully playable, and I've added tons of stuff I haven't mentioned in the forum.

I wanted to release it with trailer but due to russian attacks on my power-grid my premiere pro file got corrupted and I lost almost all progress :(

Hey there,

I recently bought myself a quest 3--- and oh god this looks amazing. Would it be possible to upload a new discord invite? The one you posted has already expired.

Thank you!

I look forward to trying this out sometime!

This thread is heavily outdated, a lot of stuff was introduced but it seems that I can't upload images on the forum anymore :(

Curently I'm in the late stages of testing multiplayer support!

Short list of most important stuff since v1.0 up to current v1.5.4

Two-handed archery - Physical draw mechanics for all bows (simple, longbow, recurve, etc.) with custom VR bow models. Draw distance actually controls shot power.
Spear & sling trajectory - Added a visual arc when aiming spears and slings so you can see where your throw will land.
Throwing overhaul - Natural throwing mechanics for throwable items and weapons.
Multiplayer VR hands - Other players can now see your VR hands and arm movements in real-time on servers.
Volumetric clouds now have proper stereo depth and no longer look broken in VR.
Moon & sun fix - Fixed the bug where the moon and skybox would bob up and down whenever you crouched.
Block placement preview - Shows a ghost outline of blocks before you place them.
Player skin matching - VR hands now match your character's skin color.
HTC Vive & WMR support - Added dedicated controller profiles and button layouts for Vive wands and WMR trackpads.
In-game controller legend - Quick visual reference screen in-game showing what every button does.
Dual hand crosshairs - Added a second crosshair for your off-hand so you know what both hands are pointing at.
Easier knapping & clay forming - Fixed raycast offsets so knapping flint and sculpting clay voxels is much more accurate and less frustrating.
Block UI positioning - Chests, ovens, and workstations now anchor their menus neatly in front of the block instead of floating awkwardly.
Better virtual keyboard - Layout and usability tweaks to make typing in chat easier.
Clearer inventory text - Cleaner item stack numbers and fixed clothing icons on the character menu.
Linux tooltip fix - Fixed WAILA and item tooltip text getting clipped on Linux.
Performance optimizations - Reduced frame drops and CPU/GPU stalls for smoother overall performance.

For those of you on here wanting to see a slice of what the mod has to offer:

Here's roughly an hour of me sounding schizophrenic because I forgot to capture Discord audio on Quest.

I'd be very interested in trying this once Valve's new vr headset releases. I bought a Valve Index years ago, but the linux support on that thing is hopeless.

Case being using AR glasses and not full VR

I think technically it's possible (Mod already renders stereoscopic view) but because I don't have AR glasses I have no way to test features like that

I do think it would be very interesting to play VS in VR (might also be more difficult), I always wondered if it was even possible to mod in VR support into Vintage Story.

I do wish you all the best on development as this is really cool to see. 👍
