Nitro Starman Posted Wednesday at 09:18 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 09:18 PM Learned that it's a bad idea to have lightning causes fire on. Was wondering why my game was getting so laggy. The devastation a couple lightning strikes from a thunder storm caused to my closest forest. Luckily I already managed to get a bee farm started before the fire destroyed that wild hive. RIP bees and most of that forest. 1
Nitro Starman Posted Wednesday at 09:54 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 09:54 PM It finally stopped. The beautiful forest is now scarredÂ
Forceous Posted Wednesday at 10:10 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 10:10 PM I was considering turning on that setting but good to know it's a bad idea lol
HalfAxd Posted Thursday at 12:39 AM Report Posted Thursday at 12:39 AM I love lighting caused fires in VS. I generally start fires early game as a way to hunt and clear line of sight. Fire is good

His home was neat a massive peat field and eventually lightning struck it and very much changed the geography lol.
LadyWYT Posted Thursday at 01:36 AM Report Posted Thursday at 01:36 AM I mean, it wasn't caused by lightning but...it could always be worse. I'm pretty sure most everyone has burned something down by accident in Vintage Story at least once. 1

Also would be nice if tree seeds could drop from this (not guaranteed but much higher chance than chopping trees do since no wood or sticks are gained), so that you can try replanting some of the forest.

I havent had the set peat on fire by pit kiln directly happen to me but some did burn in the great fire that started from a missed patch of grass by a pit kiln that burnt out a huge area of scrubland and only stopped with the rain storm 3 days later

I have my base near a lot of peat, I'm glad I didn't think (oh this is a good spot for a pit kiln) hahaha
