omeko88 Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 I Traveled 20k blocks to the east and i hit an ocean so I had to go back than I went 14k blocks to west but I didn't found any. Tomorrow I'm gonna go to the South but if i don't find any Imma just give up and I can't go to North because there is also an ocean there. Btw I only found 4 meteorites while i was looking for bauxite idk if thats a lot for the ammount of time i spend on it
LadyWYT Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 I would say it's just bad luck. As with many resources in Vintage Story, bauxite can sometimes be at spawn, within a day's walk of spawn, or may require traveling several miles to acquire. If it's looking like the latter, fixing up broken translocators can be a great way to cover a lot of ground quickly. 2
Maelstrom Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 (edited) It can also hide below the top layer of sedimentary rock. In my last world (1.19 through 1.20) bauxite was near spawn just hiding under a layer of slate. Didn't find it until I was hunting down some sphalerite for bismuth bronze. Hit bauxite and stopped digging since no ores spawn in bauxite, but happy I didn't have to go traipsing all over the place to find bauxite. Edited June 5 by Maelstrom
