OBAMFSpike Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 I cannot figure out its use. Crafted it into full blocks (blood and moon) and tried using in respective essence generators. No luck. Any pointers? The handbook has nothing and the magic book doesn't either. (Or maybe I haven't gotten to it yet though im rather far).
OBAMFSpike Posted August 10 Author Report Posted August 10 Zero Zilch Nobody? Nobody plays rust bound magic any longer?
Maelstrom Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 I do on my 1.22 world, but haven't delved that far yet.

Maelstrom Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 Well... From the toe dip I've done in rustbound it seems the creator explicitly designed the mod to be discovered through the in game magic guide and not shortcutting through the VS handbook entries.
OBAMFSpike Posted August 10 Author Report Posted August 10 Yes thats what I mean. It's very enigmatic.

You could also try asking in these different areas as it is a mod: The VS Forum "Mod" section: https://www.vintagestory.at/forums/forum/37-using-mods/ The discussion page under the mod, where it was downloaded from. This would be where the mod author would monitor. The VS Discord - they have a mod section, general questions and who knows . . . maybe something more specific? P.D.
LadyWYT Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 I've not played with Rustbound Magic, but I have tinkered around with a few magic mods in Minecraft, although it's been a while. My best guess based on that experience is that moonstone is probably a reagent for the more "conventional" magic stuff--that is, the stuff that's safe and won't have nasty side effects. Bloodstone is probably a reagent for the more dangerous stuff, maybe blood rituals or the magic that can actually hurt you or have negative effects on the surrounding area. Of course, I could be way off as well. I guess the above mainly because most magic mods, in my experience, tend to have some sort of gemstone or special resource to power the "conventional magic", with a different but similar resource to power the more dangerous magic the mod offers. 1

Minus the Discord as in my experience they are an incredibly intolerable lot of people unless you agree with their delusions. And I do not. 1

The frustrating thing is having to come here to ask as ive tried so many things up to and including AI on Google. I enjoy figuring things out. But sometimes the enjoyment dissipates as discovery turns into frustration. I know I will figure it out but sometimes it's a great thing to ask around as you never know what a fellow peer might have knowledge of. I am a bit baffled that three of the powerhouses in the forums haven't been able to help with an answer BUT you all have certainly helped with the dialect. As usual. Great job team. 1 1
