early January, malefactor, no armor,I'm mostly eating my crocks away but I've noticed they're ending faster than expected.

I notice my hunger rate it's at 145% apparently increasing by the crock, is there a a mechanic for eating the same type of dish making you more hungry for it? am I super addicted to meat-carrot stew???

or is the cold making me eat away all my rations 2x faster than expected???

makes sense, being more hungry out in peak cold time, but maybe um just too green 😭

I ate a carrot once and since then my life is a neverending cycle of withdrawal and pain.

But for real, hunger rate increases with the environment temperature. You will be burning through food faster when outside especially running and frolicking, even fully dripped out in fur. You can see this change in you character sheet as you enter a properly constructed room.

@Hanril is right that you are seeing a temperature debuff. That can be negated by wearing warmer clothing, or by being in a Room.

However, to reach 145% hunger debuff, you are also carrying something in your off-hand. Have your Character sheet open (C) and remove from the off-hand and you should see it change. Same with moving indoors.
TIP: Use the "X" key to swap something in and out of your off-hand, so it is not burning extra calories when not needed.

Eating a cooked meal (crock or pie) WILL have an impact, but it is a positive one - it will stop your hunger going down for a while immediately after consumption.

Being a Malefactor is not having an impact.

No there's nothing like that in game, the cold would add 25% and something in your left hand would add 20%, so likely a combination of those 2 is what made your hunger rate go up to 145%

One more thought, as you're not in a room. Check that your crocks are not going rotten. They shouldn't as quickly, as it is cold. But a partially rotten crock of food will only partial satiate your hunger.

Again, the solution is a Room. In particular, a Storage Vessel within a Basement in order to keep your food good for longer. Then eat a good crock.

Do note that player inventory operates at a set temperature, and isn't affected by the outside weather, so if the crock(s) are being carried around in the player inventory for a while, that could easily cause them to start spoiling, if they're older crocks.

Additionally, the shelf life of a sealed crock is significantly longer than the shelf life of an unsealed crock. Older crocks of food need to be used up more quickly once their seal is broken due to this reason.
