  1. Yeah the claiming system is working a bit too well, both in single and multiplayer. I don't know if it's for protecting the traders from some player-made inhumanely cruel machinery, but most often it ends up blocking their doorways with generated bushes. TOPS also has this problem, where you walk right next to spawn and can't pick up stones, sticks and berries, because someone claimed chunks of land and left them unused.
  2. When it comes to decorating armor pieces with stuff like that, this is apparently work in progress. See the armor rework concept art. I quite like that idea. I just like the cool factor in games, decorating, doing stuff just for enjoyment.
  3. I wouldn't even say PT was overly successful with his iron so far. His first attempt at an iron blade was probably the best. Jumping straight into iron from bushcraft, not having access to the supply chain and bronze industry, even resources available in his land, a lot of mess ups are to be expected, but recording all that is valuable.
  4. Yeah I recently saw a video with bog iron similar to that of PT, and his results were a bit better. Some said it's fake, others that he had better quality resources. Real shame that these videos got such a bad rep, because it's such a good concept.
  5. I'm distrustful of anything that isn't Primitive Technology. This stuff was too ripe for fake slop even before AI.
  6. I think the Twilight Princess system was ported to Abiotic Factor and it was pretty fun. I'm ok with more systems, but there will be so much whining ang crying, like with trees and berry bushes.
  7. Aside from disable mods and try fresh, are they dropping anything? Drops sometimes get stuck being invisible for some reason, but mostly for a single mob.
  8. The whole point of water is to dissolve dirt and sink heavier elements. Also panning is for bootstrapping your copper production with a chance of some goodies, not for passive income.
  9. 80 hours is rookie numbers bro you gotta pump those numbers up. Honestly I'm quite happy with how much there is to do in the game, but I can understand it can feel a bit time consuming. If I was shorter on time I would've definitely bounced off of a few games lately.
  10. Is the lack of clay a gravel/desert thing? Peat and clay are usually pretty bountiful in average grassy fields with some ponds, but I noticed getting spawned in a barren biome is kind of a bad experience, especially for newcomers.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if the fireplace stopped working because you went too far and the chunk unloaded. Some things tend to stop updating in distance.
  12. I ate a carrot once and since then my life is a neverending cycle of withdrawal and pain. But for real, hunger rate increases with the environment temperature. You will be burning through food faster when outside especially running and frolicking, even fully dripped out in fur. You can see this change in you character sheet as you enter a properly constructed room.
  13. Yeah, losing the metal bladed spears really doesnt sound too fun. I've lost hours of my life looking for my flat laying colorful arrows irl, so I already feel deep connection to the fury of my ancestors. There could be more separation between proper sturdy spears for keeping enemies at range and more expendable throwing spears. Perhaps at the smithing level, so that the throwing blades get more output per ingot, like arrows. And there is plenty of room for a proper hunting update too, that I wouldn't be surprised to see in the future. That would be fun even after stone age and domestication.
  14. There's also blue wattle and daub. Maybe this one will suit you.
  15. tldr: you need to break it down into copper bits with a chisel in crafting grid. However yeah, some info in the handbook seems to be wrong.
  16. The triangle shape seems to have helped, but there's a change in direction only up to 2nd tier of pegs, and then it just continues. No gambling here kids, back to the mines.
  17. I failed at statistics, once again. I'll try to figure out how to make wider pegs, since sand often jumps two blocks sideways, but not always.
  18. I have to up the bow subject. It's a minor thing, but the first time I saw the animation I felt something looks very off before noticing which hand holds the bow. Again, a very minor thing, but both could be bundled up in some accessibility update. I'm not a user of those settings, but I always appreciate the creativity of those solutions.
  19. Climate consists of precipitation, forestation, elevation and avg temp. You need to be in the range in all those aspects to get elks spawning. You can find them on wiki for every species, but checking the specific parameters of a chunk might need some commands. Otherwise just explore more.
  20. I imagine a vintage world filled with 100 wheel water engines, powered by a seemingly neverending single bucket of water. Poles with axles on them providing rotary motion to every household, taxed. Unethically sourced iron hubs made in sweatsmithies by those who couldn't pay the waterlords. Windmills completely illegal.
  21. Spur gears seem to be work in progress, so using them right now will most likely be a pain. I used them once, but it was janky, and I'm pretty sure we're waiting for an update for them.
  22. I remember in my first 3-wide house placing a few log rafters under my thatch roof made it look pretty nice and gave it some room for less used wall storage. This or plaster/daub ceiling might work nice. If the house is wide and tall, maybe some plank floors for extra storage on the sides to hide the roof behind crates.
  23. Assuming 1 block = 1m, brother I would like to shoot well like that. If you're talking about 100m, you're probably looking at a longbow that is pretty much medieval artillery.
  24. I'm not sure if you even can rope wild animals. Domesticated goats are still a hassle. Chasing them into an inhumane system of underground tunnels dressed as a hole is still pretty effective.
