@Requiem3The reason you cannot make soulstorm brew lies in a bug that exists when cooking refined soulstorm slop. For some reason, you pick it up as an item, instead of it being a liquid in the cauldron, or saucepan. If you take the refined soulstorm slop "item", and place it back into the saucepan or cauldron, it turns into a liquid, from where you can right click with a bucket, and retrieve the liquid.

From there, you can go and distill that into soulstorm brew.

With all due respect, @l33tmaan. The bug was reported bout a year ago, and its still an issue.

What is the best way to dry dehydrated berries? It feels they are drying slower in cellars, but expire quicker outside? Also, you can only place 8 on a shelf - is that the intended way?

Without editting the config files, is there any way to speed up wine curing into strong wine?

Not that I've seen. I was looking for anything that would speed up that process too, like a modded container that increases curing speed but haven't had much luck. Going from Ale -> Vintage Whiskey takes a bit too long, especially if you are letting your ale cure all the way so distilling gives the most whiskey. Waiting 140 days just so for it to take another 42 days (without anything interrupting or slowing the process), and that is just from Ale to Stong Ale! I think my initial assessment of 1540 in-game days is way off, I didn't take into account the time it takes to cure AFTER the days until it starts to cure passes.

Something that uses temporal gears to speed the curing process would be a good lore-friendly way of doing it, like an aging barrel hooked up to a temporal gear somehow.

Tbh, I dont mind the waiting too much. I just put it in a cellar (that I named Feco Depo), and go back every other month to check the timer (or when a monster spawns inside during a temporal storm). Unless I am in a hurry to get aqua vitae for soulstorm brew, the wine and brandy can mature in peace.

*Blink* More than 14 years?!?

Not accounting for growth time, and trying to waste as little material as possible. 9 days in a month, 9x12=108 days per year.

It takes 14 days to turn 50 flour into 10L of ale. Ale takes 140 days before it starts to cure, then it takes another 1008 hours (42 days) before turning into Strong Ale. Strong Ale takes 280 days before it starts curing then 2016 hours (84 days) to cure into Fine Ale.

So from Ale to Fine Ale: 14 + 140 + 280 + 42 + 84 = 560/108 = 5.1 years

Whiskey takes 280 days to start curing then 2016 hours (84 day) to cure into Aged Whiskey. Aged Whiskey Takes 560 days to start curing then 4032 hours (168 days) to cure into Vintage Whiskey.

Whiskey to Vintage Whiskey: 280 + 560 + 84 + 168 = 1092/108 = 10.11 years

560+1092 = 1652 days / 108 = 15.29 years.

10L of Ale only turns into 0.5L of whiskey. 10L of Fine Ale distills into 2L of Whiskey

Turns out my math wasn't that far off.

I wasn't questioning your math. I was astonished at the amount of time that is factored in. I have no idea what people find to do in those ~1500 hours of screen time. Heck, a full-time job is only a bit over 2,000 hours.

All good!

I knew I estimated the first time, but I was curious on actually how long it took, and writing it all down helped 🤣

It gets crazy when you look at how long your days are ingame and then figure out how many full IRL days it is. Around 50! So if you play solo, good luck getting that. Even ramping up the base ale production to try and get the same amount of vintage whiskey without aging the ale it's still 10 ingame years!

The nice thing is that time isn't affected by longer months!

But that's why I was looking for a mod that has shelving that speeds up the curing time, Food Shelves has barrel racks that slow it down but nothing to speed it up.

Now if we can only get a patch mod for the refined soulstorm slop so it goes into the sauce pan, or cauldron as a liquid, and not into the output slot as an item. That would make my day.

I've gotten pretty excited about the process of making fish gelatin, and in the handbook, it says VERY savory, compared to normal gelatin or fruit gelatin. Is there a corresponding nutritional benefit to using this ingredient in meals? I'm not seeing any recipes that list it as an optional ingredient, but if there is a worthwhile benefit to including this in my meals, I'll go for mass production! I'm trying to come up with a pretty obnoxious fancy diet that provides very strong nutritional value without having to eat a lot of different items each day.

Hi, Soulstorm Brew recipe broken.

1. Not any poisonus mushrooms works. Pink Bonnet for example not.

2. Refined Soulstorm Slop isn't are liquid. There is liquid version in creative menu, but boiling create non-liqiud version.

P.s. also i try distill one liter of Refined Soulstorm Slop from creative menu and result was 0.2l of brew instead 0.5l promised by handbook.

P.p.s. usually i not craft this, but havy armor and vampire penalty from XSkills demands strong solution for emergency recovery.

P.p.p.s. Also, resin hardening produce liquid hardened resin with no means to convert it into non-liquid resin. Handbook need hint about just spilling hardened resin on ground.

Yes there is a problem with the soulstorm brew, but as I stated before

Its not a game breaking bug, just a major inconvienience to have to manually take the "item", and place it back in the cauldron to turn it into a liquid.@EreticKB

Had an interesting outcome: We have Expanded Foods (Obviously) and XSkills that has a trait that "Has a chance to add a random valid ingredient" to a meal. It apparently thinks that the item expandedfoods:recipeingredient-item-sasuage-instrumentalcase is a valid item and I have a simple meal with that in it, lol.

Is this normal?? Why is the meat not curable? The room is a fully sealed cellar with stone on all sides. This been a problem for me since November - I've turned off all mods except ACA, EF, and the extra info mod.

Use the .debug rooms hi command to check if the room is a valid room. Also, consider installing Medieval expansion. And make use of the cellar ice mechanic.

Having the same issue as well. The room is identified as a cellar through the debug command as well as referencing the spoilage rates of the vessels inside. I get the meat fresh, put it on the rack, and it spoils after a few days without ever drying. The only thing I haven't tried is breaking the rack and putting it down again. Will update on results.

Update: Bug was solved by breaking the meat rack and placing it down *thumbs up*

I'm using Expanded Foods mod version 1.7.4 and Culinary Artillery mod version 1.2.5 on Vintage Story version 1.20.10 and all the fruit bread's "bread" textures are suddenly missing. You can see the fruit bits, but the rest of the loaf is just invisible. In as much as I tested, the fruit breads retain the same satiety ratings as before...the bread portion is just invisible. The server I'm playtesting this for has a dedicated baker, so I'm hoping there's an easy fix for this?

Also, several items from the Wildcraft Fruits & Nuts mod (also noted that on the Wildcraft Fruits&Nuts modpage since I'm unsure which mod is at fault here) that I think are Expanded Foods recipes, which are also missing textures. Attached image: item slot 5 is all over missing texture from using a dried Wildcraft Fruits & Nuts fruit that is missing a texture, item slots 6 and 7 are examples of missing bread textures with vanilla fruit (dried blueberries) and Wildcraft Fruits&Nuts fruit (dried raspberries).

Hello, I have a question! How are you meant to turn the peanut paste item into a liquid?

The output from the quern is an item. You cannot really work with the item, as the mixing bowl only accepts 0.06L at a time (and you need at leas 0.1L in one slot to do any 'kneading'). But the only way to actually "liquefy" the peanut paste is to put it in the mixing bowl and then scoop it up with a container. This is obviously incredibly tedious work. (There is also incredible risk of dropping the peanut paste item, which actually just makes it disappear like a liquid from a broken barrel. Why? It acted like an item until it got dropped...)

Is there a way we do not know about? Please advise ❤️
