PastaNipples Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 Would anyone happen to know if you can make a charcoal pit (note, NOT a 'Pit Kiln' but the pit in which you render firewood into usable charcoal) out of like bricks or stone, for them sweet sweet aesthetics? I hate having this ugly dirty patch in my village, and I want to know if it can still 'work' if the walls are made of bricks, the floors made of stone, etc. 1
Streetwind Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 Yes, it will work - even with glass IIRC. All that matters is that all inward-facing block sides are completely solid. 1

Maelstrom Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 I encourage you to experiment. I thought it might be possible to add a door as an easy option to enter the pit. Sadly, no. Doors on your charcoal pit only lead to less firewood. 1

Just wanted to make sure such avenues were even possible. I'm going to test 'mudbrick', it's classed as a 'soil', so it should work fine!
Silent Shadow Posted August 18, 2021 Report Posted August 18, 2021 Mud brick works but you will not be able to recover all the bricks when breaking the pile open. A cobblestone "door" can be though. 1
