Jonathan Faber
as title suggests, is there a particularly easy way/biome to find and obtain oak trees and logs, as while my forest has Larch, Redwood, Pine, and occasionally maple and birch, it has no Oak, and getting the part of the game that needs Tannin for leatherworking is kinda a pain if you don't have any, so any tips would be appreciated
Streetwind
Welcome to the forums Most trees can be distinguished by the color of their foliage on the world map. Oaks look different from the other trees you mentioned. Of course, that doesn't help you directly right away... you first have to find an oak tree. Then you can look at the map and memorize how it appears there. Generally, if you ask yourself the question "how do I find x" in Vintage Story, the answer is "travel further".
Saricane
What starting climate did you choose ? I ask that because I don't understand how you can have larch (cold and icy climates) and redwood trees (south temperate and warm climates) in the same forest ? Gorfinhofin
I feel like I've seen larches at high elevation. They could be in a warm climate with the larches growing on mountains?
