  1. The name Potassium comes from the word potash, which is where it was originally obtained by burning wood and washing the ashes into a pot and boiling off the water. It would be nice to be able to obtain potassium fertilizer this way instead of having to find mineral deposits.

  2. The wiki says that vegetables rot into 0.5 rot but that cooked meals rot into 1 per serving. I thought that cooking my spare turnips into soup with water and one turnip would therefore let me get rot from them in a 1:1 ratio instead of a 2:1 ratio, but it did not. Is it only 0.5 rot per serving, or does the game keep track of what exactly went into cooking the meal and figure that since there was only one vegetable, you only get 0.5 rot?
  3. What the hell? I thought they wouldn't spawn in your house if it was well lit. I'm two years into my world now and so far I have only occasionally emerged from my cellar to find one had spawned during the storm on the main floor, and the last several storms that didn't even happen when I started spamming more torches during the storm. Now I just went to sleep and woke up in the middle of a storm ( normally I wake up right when the storm starts so I can run down to the cellar ) with a deep bowtorn in my house, and the second I killed that, 3 drifters jumped me. They were also all flickering and glitchy looking, like they were phasing through the walls or something.
  4. The wiki says you have to break the skep to get the honeycomb out. Does that mean it kills the bees and you have to wait for a nearby colony to repopulate?
  5. Oh, so you first have to cut them and transplant them ( but not to farmland ) and then you can fertlize them?
  6. The wiki says that you can apply fertilizer to berry bushes to improve their health. I have a bunch of bone meal and tried to right click on some not so healthy bushes with it to fertilize them and it doesn't seem to work. What's the deal?
  7. The help file on large hide says that it can be crafted into small hide, but there appears to be no recipe to actually do so?
  8. Oh, I guess I didn't wait long enough for it to cycle ( though I thought I did ). It said stitched linnen or something which required a sewing kit.
  9. Am I reading this right? The proper bed requires actual cloth that can only be made if you are a tailor? So I'm stuck with a hay bed?
  10. Ahh, right... I left two open holes in my hovel to see the light outside so that's why the cold was causing hunger. It went away when I climbed down the hatch to the cellar. Still, why does the grass clothing not seem to help?
  11. How do you do that and why did adding some clothing with +1 temperature not reduce the hunger?
  12. My hunger rate is currently reading 112%. The wiki says that it can be raised by cold temperatures, but only when not indoors. I am indoors. I also tried making some grass clothing to keep warm and it did not change the hunger rate. What is causing this?
  13. Yea, I've got a saw now and a proper door on the outside and a trapdoor down to the cellar. I was just wondering if replacing the stone floor between with cob would hurt the preservation or if I should use cobblestone. Maybe I'll use cobblestone anyway just for the look. I also just baked my first pie! I think next I'll try to make some brass torch holders.
  14. The chisel is supposed to be able to break down things, but it seems that it can't be used to break down the copper arrowheads and spear heads that you can find while panning. That would be nice.
  15. Title says it all.
  16. I keep reading that a shield has a low chance to passively block attacks, but to really work you have to "actively" block. How do you do that?
  17. Oh, I see. I have been trying to bury my crocks in a little underground pocket covered over with dirt for the cellar bonus, but I'm not sure that is working. Should the storage vessel work in a little trench covered over with one block of soil? I guess I can't read its tooltip without uncovering it and breaking the cellar.
  18. The wiki says that storage vessels slow spoilage of vegetables, but the in game tooltip says that it only slows decay of grain, and speeds up veg and everything else. What gives?
  19. I don't understand... I keep breaking wild berry bushes that say they are mature, but all I get are plant matter, no berries. All I have managed to eat so far are some wild mushrooms.
