  1. If you want to disable creative mode in your single player world, there is a setting you can change to do that. Assuming your install is in the default location, you will find your local server config here: %Appdata%/VintagestoryData/serverconfig.json In that file do a search for: AllowCreativeMode And change its value from true to false Now when you start your singleplayer world, you should not be able to turn on creative mode. Hope that helps.

  5. It's not a texture problem, it's the 3d rendered bag that is rotated to the right, effectively hiding the seed texture behind the numbers.
  6. What do you mean by travelling large distances? 200 blocks? 500? More? There can be large areas that are unstable, that's just normal. Likewise, there are large areas that are very stable, some almost all the way down to bedrock (I've had worlds where that has happened). Just try going further than you have been, and see if things change, you've probably just been unlucky on your current world
  7. Water is also your friend, you swim faster than them, but be aware of their leap ability

  9. I do this all the time, as they make for great starter shelters and easy, free, durable building materials
  10. If you can't find much surface nuggets, panning is absolutely an option! This can often result in other useful items to be found as well, and I do pan as soon as I can when starting fresh. Most of the time when I find surface copper, I'm not actively looking for it, but often just stumble upon the rocks while looking for other resources.
  11. Great work, as always! But sad to see the mining nerf actually go trough unchanged, even after lots of negative comments about it's impact on an already very time consuming task. We spend loads of hours mining, and now we need to spend another 20% more time down there not a huge fan of this change..

We're having issues with our multiplayer server crashing lately, and we've not been able to figure this one out, because of several factors, and I was hoping maybe someone in the community could share some light on what's going on. We're running on a hosted server, and all access we have is ftp/web, and no control of server auto restart or inline parameters. When the server restarts, it deletes all the logs, so we have no way of error searching other than what the players on the server at the given time can tell us. We have a script in place that culls the logs every 5 minutes to a off site machine that we can examine, but they rarely hold any viable info for the moment when things go wonky and the server restarts. Yesterday we did however get some info in the logs that could be the culprit, but we're not sure. It was caught at the moment it happened, and one of our admins were online to snag the log before it got deleted, and it contained something that we think might be a bug, or at least the reason for the server crashing. 20.2.2024 05:02:38 [Notification] Client OMGDeadtoast tried to place a block but rejected because OnPlaceBlock returns false.   14. As the title says, how large is the protected area around a riftward when it's activated? There's no mentioning anything about it in the wiki, and I couldn't find anything in this forum either

  19. Glad you found it, searching for iron can be a struggle, been there, done that! My first time hunting for iron, I spent the major part of 3 irl days searching before I finally got lucky and found Magnetite. I later found out I had overlooked some really good readings just next to my base, but being new to the Pro-pick, I didn't know I actually found iron and wandered off to search for hours and hours far far away. Now I make sure to use the ProspectorInfo mod, to easier keep track of where I find what.
  20. Did you by accident delete the files VSEssentials.dll and VSSurvivalMod.dll in the /mod directory? The game modes in themself are mods to the game engine, so if you delete those files, you are in fact removing the game modes too.
  21. So I finally came around to build my new forge, a cementation furnace and designated area for bloomeries and other things related to a forge. Oh, and I also started building my new bakery/general store, but it's not finished yet..
