  1. With all due respect, I would not trust eating out of a clay pot after it's had Sulfuric Acid cooked inside of it Beeswax isn't as intense, but grouping it with Sulfuric Acid is a better design choice than making three different cooking pot states. You either have your food grade cooking pot, or your NOT food grade cooking pot.
  2. Despite my travels in 1.19, as even more so in 1.20, I haven't encountered a single chunk border error I DO notice the difference between 1.18 and 1.20 terrain; I go from mountainous forests and rough terrain, to a lot of flatter forests and smoother terrain, and I have seen those jagged chunk borders in older worlds, such as my 1.15-1.17 world I mentioned before (and also in that other block game), but this current 1.18+ world has been free of those.
  3. I wanted to do a "Forever World" back in 1.15 (although I didn't call it that; I just don't like constantly making new worlds). Sadly, I had to make a new world for 1.18.0, as (at the time) it was said that no 1.17 worlds could generate the New Chapter 1 story content. But! I'm still running on that very same world I have moved my base once, back in mid-1.19, as that helps in keeping the world feeling fresh and new, as well as adding things to do. I've already decided to move again after 1.21 drops, as I'm already at the point of "I've done absolutely everything I can ingame". Looking forward to it Uh oh.
  4. Got a few questions for you; 1. How is the durability on your hammer, and your chisel? I don't know how low "too low" is, but if they're too low of a durability then it won't work 2. Double check your logs to make sure they aren't chiseled; I myself have fallen for that once before 3. Reload your world with all mods disabled, and see if that fixes it. - Alternatively, if you wish to not risk breaking your world, load a new world with your mods, try to craft a rotor, and if it fails try that world again with no mods.
  5. This has bothered me for years. Another thing is when you first log in, if you open a container before your inventory, and shift-click from the container, it will go to the inventory, making you thing the item vanished. Opening and then closing your inventory stops that. Actually now that I've typed it out, that feels like I should put this on the github bug reporter . .. Anyways! A container and your hotbar should have priority over the inventory, and it bothers me in having to move everything twice
  6. Well, in the 1.20.0 dev post, And searching throughout the rest of the post, I didn't see grubs mentioned anywhere. I also searched the main dev posts, all the way back to 1.6.0, but nothing came up. According to this Wiki page, they have at least been in the game since 1.18.15, but the same page also lists 1.20 characters, so that's not solid evidence. I vaguely remember them being added somewhere, but that could have been 1.14+
  7. I was about to come out and say "Oh those have been in the game since I've started, they're in the south" Then I realized I'm thinking of Termites Grubs. .. Well, they come up in an inventory search on 1.20.12, but I don't remember them getting added to the game. Maybe they're a 1.20 edition, along with all the other bugs added.
  8. Maple syrup is a wonderful idea, and I can see it as a viable substitute for honey in cooking recipes. This might be a bit too complex for our simple seraph (player character); I've whined about this in the past (one two three), but if our guy isn't smart enough to combine bread and jam together, then I just don't see him figuring out the complexities of making pancakes.
  9. Your tile floor is stunning, I love it
  10. I'm seconding you on this, fellow dragon. I use a scythe in the winter time to get my dry grass; it's either that, or go digging in the snow (Or remember to stockpile a shitton in the fall, but I play on 30-day months and that stockpile can only last so long) It really should, the hoe's literally designed for this task, why is some axe better? Imagining some guy chopping the weeds like they're firewood, sending dirt everywhere, and then having to fight the axe back out of the ground it embedded itself in. I know it's said a lot on this forum, but that can always be a mod idea. One that keeps "weeds" from spawning on empty tilled soil
  11. I'm a hoarder (The dragon? a hoarder?) in this game, so my storage is a little bit larger I have a 14^3 room for all of my stones. Two floors, and each rock type has two trunks for the main blocks, and 4 dedicated crates for the stones. In my (much smaller) wood storage room, for each wood type I have a trunk for the main stuff, and then 4 crates for seeds (x1), logs (x1), and planks (x2). And when possible, I have matching crate materials for it. I also have a dirt room, which is full of crates for dirts and clay. Then there's the wall of trunks in my smiting area for all the metals and ores, along with a pit for the charcoal (it's more fun to store my charcoal in a large pit). Lastly is another 14^3 room for the extra stuff. When I get home from work (and I remember), I will share some photos. For now, here's an already-uploaded photo I can share of the Charcoal Pit. The glass block is there to show that it's 3 blocks deep
  12. You can drop the settings to Absolute Minimum and the entities will still disappear. This has been an issue I've been dealing with since 1.20 came out. Entities vanish, item hover popups stop showing, and game sounds start to delay (but not the music) I've been giving this a thought over, and I've decided I was wrong. I've got a 6th gen Pentium, and you're about to get a 6th gen i7; same generation, opposite performance ends. Keep me updated on when your setup comes in, and if your more powerful CPU solves this issue. I've been wanting to upgrade to an i7 7700, as that's the max my current board can take, but I haven't had the $75-$125USD to spend on it; rent and groceries have been more important
  13. Winter is usually when I do my long distance traveling, such as to the Resonate Archives. I've naught any other plans, and all my chores can't be done in the cold and snow, so what better way to bide my time?
  14. Any burnable block will burn one block above a pit kiln. One block as in one air block between the top of the kiln and the bottom of the burnable block. Two blocks are perfectly fine above a pit kiln Also, the 4 blocks on the side of the pit kiln can be chiseled. I have some above-ground (knee-level) pit kilns with the 4 blocks chiseled to be two (chisel) voxels thick, as well as their height reduced by two to make looking into them easier.
  15. Patch notes for all versions can be found at the top of the site, under devlog > news (link for you as well ) In 1.21, each clay item can be fired in a different color, based on if's source material, as well as a Beehive Kiln configuration.
  16. I'm running Vintage Story on a 6th gen Pentium, and I still get animals, so I don't think it's your CPU. Now, you COULD be suffering with the same problem I have; All Entities become invisible after loading chunks. When I first load the game, I can see all creatures, but if I step two chunks over everyone disappears. I mentioned it in a different thread, but RAM was not an issue; I went from 12 to the max 64 my motherboard can take, and that didn't affect a single thing.
  17. World's heaviest football
  18. The front of their wagons implies that they were designed for a large beast, or for some traders TWO large beasts, to move them about. Where are these beasts? What do they look like? Am I safe from them?
  19. You used to; I remember having an aged table in a kitchen once. I haven't seen one ingame since like, 1.15, so it could have been changed. I did say "wild crop grain", but that was more for emphasis on the bare minimal I had going on Back in 1.18.0, I was able to make a pre-anvil quern to grind that grain into dough, as all you needed to craft a quern were sticks and relieved rock, which requires making a pick, which doesn't need an anvil to craft (only 20 copper nuggets and a clay mold (which only needs clay to craft, and a pit kiln to harden the clay (which uses sticks, dry grass, a burnable fuel source, and a way to light it (the most basic fire making method is a fire starter which only needs dry grass and sticks (dry grass can be gathered with a knife, which only needs knappable stones off the ground and a stick (sticks can be picked up off the ground)))))). Nowadays, I make all my pies with fertilized terra pretta-grown grain, ground down smoothly and evenly on a windmill-powered quern, and a bucket (sterilized with aqua-vitae) filled with the finest tap water a home in the woods can have I make the best damn pies in my world, guaranteed.
  20. When 1.18 dropped, and I made a new world so I could play the Chapter 1 lore content, I quickly realized I missed my blueberry pies. This is how I solved that longing, scooping out pitiful amounts of lake water to mix with wild crop grain. I felt so smart too, thinking I was clever for finding out how to make pies pre-anvil, "I don't need planks for a bucket " Yeah well you do need planks for a table. Which the pie requires.
  21. Yes! You will need an internet connection for the download and first login; after that, you're good to play offline. Close and open the game as many times as you wish, restart the computer even, you're good to play offline whenever.
  22. All of my stone (tiny bits that might be knappable) collecting comes from the excess waste in rock (stone rock block) collecting; Quarrying out all of the rock tends to give out a lot of stones, which I use to make my cobblestone and path blocks. I haven't paid close attention, so what I'm about to say next is a top-of-my-head estimate; I think I get about 6 stacks of stones for every 64 rock I quarry out. I quarry 4 rows at 16 blocks each, so one layer gives me 64 rocks and about. .. maybe its 5 stacks of stone. I fill two mining bags full of stones after 4 layers, so that adds up to about 5 stacks per 64 rock. But, never-the-less, my point with this long paragraph is that I'm usually getting my stones from other activities. Anyways, heavy quarrying might be classified by some as Iron+, so for the bronze/iron that you're in, my recommendation for you is to find a cave entrance and mine about. Like you said, it is initially slower than running about, but running about can only get so much; that stone doesn't regenerate. If you fancy, there are bombs that can help gather stones in a more entertaining way, although I'm not sure on their speeds. That early cobble is harsh though I've been there many a times. Spending days in the pre-copper era trying to build a nice house that isn't just dirt variants.
  23. Version 1.21 will make the anvil mold be single use, so a single-use chandelier mold isn't too far fetched.
  24. First off, same join date Secondly, it usually does. It takes a bit sometimes, but it'll eventually update and remove the grass. I have seen it bug out a bit with sideways instability on; fallen forest floor will stay forest floor with another dirt block on it, even after a few real-life hours. How did your grass blocks get covered? Also, are they chiseled by any chance? I know dirt can now be chiseled, but I can't remember if they can change their grass state afterwards.
