Vintage Story Is a Challenge-Centered Game.
Never Jhonsen replied to Rudometkin's topic in Discussion
Way back when I first bought the game, all those years ago, Exploration Mode is what I made my first world under; it looked like the easiest choice, and I knew I had a lot to learn. And it was! Monsters are weaker, you're stronger, food's more filling and lasts longer, and the challenges are easier to face. My recommendation to new players is to start a vanilla Exploration world. No mods, no adjusted settings. -
It's always bothered me at the top as well. I would like to have it moved to the side, under the coordinates.

If memory serves me well, servers default to 30 day months

It is such a good texture for building, I'm with you on that

Thanks game Really love how far you sent me here. All that work to get a translocator fixed, and you helped my travel a *checks notes* 3 minute distance.

Peridite Rock, and maybe Ashlar and Cobble, could be chiseled to look like moss. I'm not sure on how to get some Mushrooms into the build, although I'd like to see that It'd be a massive waste of a full block, but Shale or Basalt could be chiseled down to make tiny little ants (or other small bugs).

I too would like a left-handed position I'm ambidextrous, so it's not as important to me as it would be for a true left hander, but it's still nice to use the left handed options in games .

I hadn't realized just how poorly designed that was until I played this game. You really shouldn't be able to casually break specific structures, like villager homes, or mini boss areas. The jungle temple from that other game, for example, should be a protected area; otherwise you can just. Mine through the side and defeat it's purpose

It's meant to be unbreakable, much like the Mantle, or Bedrock from that other block game. "Tool Level 99" is to make it unreasonable to achieve.

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw that screenshot. It's beautiful, but why are they always locust-infested? Been that way since /I/ started playing this game

We have onion. Where's our garlic?

There's this mod I used back in 1.19, IDK how it'll preform for 1.20 But I agree. We have eggs and pie crusts. Lets make Quiches Same with sandwiches. We have bread, jam, and knives. Surely our Seraphs are smart enough to figure out how to combine the three. This is not the first time I've made this point either.

That's what Homo Sapiens is for; no drifters, Bowtorn, Shivers, or temporal storms.

With one exception of trying to seek help in 2022, I didn't start posting on the forums until 4 and a half real world years after buying the game Everyone's different

That's about what I do I'll build a place, make everything I wanna make, and once that itch to start anew gets too strong I just. Pack a full inventory of everything I wish to keep, and travel a couple thousand blocks out until I find a promising location. Maybe I'll venture back for more forgotten stuff, but never the less this is a new enough experience to satisfy that "Make a new world" itch. Especially if I'm moving over with Steel tools

There's a mod that will auto-unfreeze any ice block as the chunk loaded at 4C+, and I tried it out for a bit back in 1.19. Do note however, any time I would get near a medium sized lake or bigger my game would crash. I'm under the impression that the devs are working on the slow melting ice, but it's not a high priority.

I wanted to look up a photo of the Mad Crow to show my partner, but it seems that Google has decided that @LadyWYT is the latest addition to Vintage Story bosses Which brings the question; what kind of fight are you?

When I temporary installed 1.21.0_RC1 yesterday, I made a folder inside the Vintage Story directory (C:\Users\My_USER_ACCOUNT\AppData\Roaming\Vintagestory) called "BETA", and inside that folder, I made another one called "Vintagestory" which I installed the prerelease in. Once I was done testing, I deleted "BETA" and loaded my normal 1.20.12 like nothing happened. I DID need to make a new Start Menu shortcut, but that was as easy as going into my 1.20 instalation, right clicking the game, and clicking "Pin to Start Menu"

At first I was about to agree, but then I thought for a bit; They could have it take two rods to make one rail. That's still two ingots per block, which is a lot early game, but if you're at the point of making steam power I don't think you qualify as that Two large iron deposits could be enough to get you a fair distance, assuming you're willing to put the work in to make the rails.

I always forget about the maps This isn't the first time I've said that on this forum either

As long as it's the same world, you will have the same character and inventory.

I downloaded 1.21.0_RC1 to answer my question, and it appears that Yes, you can drop more powders than 4 in a spot, but No, they're just 12 normal piles in one space and not one large one. When it comes to all the powders I could think of (and other similar items), all the ore ones look to be implemented, but there isn't anything for grains or flours. From top left; Sunflower Grain, Malachite (Bountiful), Crushed Hematite From bottom left; Flax Flour, Powdered Sulfur, Uranium Nuggets.

When it comes to Lupins (My favorite flower in the game), you have two types; large purple patches, and large blue patches. each patch will have a handful of a second color, that being White, Red, or Orange. I would LOVE to be able to breed flowers ingame I have seen a mod where you can "craft" flower seeds with a knife and a flower, but I'd rather a more natural way, like how the mushrooms work. Areas that generate with flowers tend to regrow them there.
