  1. While I agree that an overhaul of this type would be cool and fit the game, it seems like it would still work poorly in the story locations’ forced combats; in a scenario where stealth isn’t possible, a stealth based system doesn’t work well.
  2. No and no, but it’s still weird that you hear the wind blowing, even if you’re inside of a forest, at full speed and volume; same with the rain, it’s bothersome that the only way to avoid it is to go hide in a hole. If that’s intended as a way to know when you’re inside, fine, but it’s still weird.
  3. Yes, but it doesn’t care if you’re in a sheltered area where you shouldn’t be able to hear the wind; this is probably something that would get overhauled if windmills ever do, but whether or not that ever happens is up in the air.
  4. My issue is that, while the sound design is great, it’d be better if the wind sound depended on the environment, rather than just being constantly blowing.
  5. I actually checked that mod out, and someone hasn’t responded to my comment yet, but I asked the developer what they think of this idea’s feasibility.
  6. I’m 90% sure it’s vanilla.
  7. After touring a vineyard last weekend, I’ve decided that grape bushes are NOT ENOUGH! If grapes are added, I feel that the plants should be a multi block and dynamic structure, similar to fruit trees, so that proper trellises and vines can exist in the game. If possible and not annoying, the vines should also require pruning to get optimal fruit growth, but I don’t think that would work amazingly well with the game’s pacing.
  8. *CRUNCH* They taste fine to me… … can I just say that my immediate thought on seeing “make locusts edible by chickens” was “oh, the big light bulbs on their tail!” And as a chicken owner myself, I can attest to the fact that they will eat anything that moves, has moved recently, or looks like it might move. Anything I give them is fair game, with the exception of oranges, other poisonous things (but I’ve heard they’ll try), and anything too tough for them to peck through, such as whole pumpkins; although I will note that I’ve never seen a cantaloupe rind eaten to the point that there’s no green on it outside of my coop.
  9. That’s certainly an interesting mental image; a seraph tending a forge, occasionally dropping blooms down a chute and having ingots or plates pop up in a chest.
  10. This seems to happen an awful lot…
  11. The issue is that you’d have to be able to, at random, mark a block that has a high path cost as one that doesn’t, on the fly, on a per-animal basis.
  12. This’d be basically natively included if animals and other creatures had momentum-based navigation, but that’d be difficult to implement because of the 1m world resolution and lack of slopes.
  13. I think @LadyWYT’s point is that if the mountains were scaled larger and in a more realistic way, they’d just look like a solid wall if you’re close enough to see them, unless you have a large enough view distance. HOWEVER! I think implementing a system such as the one in https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/22371 would make it possible to actually see the mountains at a distance where the slope is visible and it *feels* like a mountain from afar. While I haven’t played this mod, I’ve played a similar and slightly less optimized mod on Java TOBG, which is a horrible and slow-running mess (only when it comes to optimization, though; no hate for the other game), I can attest that it runs about the same as adding 4 or so chunks of view radius, so as a baked-in feature for this game, which runs leagues better than Java TOBG, this would run great on most computers.

    They are just shaped explosives.
  15. I dunno. On the one hand, it’s a reasonable ask to be able to build anywhere in a game about building. On the other, this would make traders something of an interesting thing that could be looked into for players who joined after this, and it would make getting into the story somewhat harder, as you’d have to rely on RNG to get the TH trader.
  16. Just for clarity's sake, I'd appreciate this change; never in my 100-ish hours of play have I encountered a piece of grass (eaten) that was actually eaten by something instead of having been cropped with a blade of some kind. As a plus, if there is something that eats grass, the descriptor of cropped would still be accurate. Please @Tyron, I'm begging you.
  17. I feel like this could be really interesting, even if it’s just propogation, but it’d be super cool if we had fruit-tree style dynamic bushes, like for grapes growing on trellises.
  18. And not a whiff of Sizzle, Pork, And / or Mmmm.
  19. I’ve never understood the difference between this and ham. I have to assume it’s a different cut, but from where? Is it made FROM Canadians???
  20. Fair enough…
  21. Aside from pizza overdose, which happens when you take three slices without checking that everyone’s had some. This can only be cured by bloodletting.
  22. I like this idea. The only thing is how to have the game dynamically change the humidity/ apply this effect. I guess it could be applied based on latitude, with distance from the equator moving the “dry season” earlier into the year, with some year-to-year variation on length and timing.
  23. Based on what I’ve read on the wiki, I think that the 60% chance is only for grafted cuttings.
  24. isn’t there a way to turn chiseled blocks without breaking them? I know that the wrench works, but I think there’s a tool mode that rotates the whole block.
