  1. Tap water is superior to bottled water in taste, value and convenience. It's also proven to be cleaner than even the most expensive bottled brands almost always as it undergoes vigorous and frequent testing for contaminates, which "spring" water does not have to. Oh you mean in Vintage Story? The eating sound is too silly and doesnt fit.
  2. As soon as you spot one, make a two high, four deep packed earth construction, it takes seconds and approx 20 packed earth... throw a rock / spear at them and run inside. As long as you have one spear left on you, you can stab them almost to death from the safe end of the dirt construction (they cant fit down the 1X entrance, but you can stab them). When they start running away, throw remaining spears Note: this only works if you spot them *first*
  3. I know what you mean, but travelling thousands, or tens of thousands of blocks is absolutely required in VS. Often even at the very start for basic materials. Without mapping from the start, the new game experience would be slowed to an absolute crawl, with the need to sign post in the world your every expedition. If physical maps were in the game and required, for instance, paper. Do you wait an entire year for your first flax harvest before you can even map the near surroundings? Maybe a toggle for the lovers of hardship
  4. Anyone know anything more up to date about these, more recent that Feb last year (from Tyrons post ) ? Thanks in advance
  5. Hey all, I've noticed since Imgur banned users from the UK a few weeks ago, many, many mod pages on the official page are unable to be viewed by 70+ million of us UK people. This reduces the potential of downloading a mod if all of the images are just a blue gradient with the words "This content is not available in you region". This includes donation links with an image, drastically reducing modders chances of being financially supported by UK users. So could I, on behalf of 70,000,000+ potential VS players in the UK request that modders stop using Imgur, and switch to another free image host that doesnt discriminate against an entire nation for the sake of its profits please ? Thanks :]

  6. Those Japanese monkeys that take dips in hot springs dont instantly pass away, so I would agree this could use a tweak OP edit: moneys > monkeys !
  7. Until you're established, most of your time would be spent just looking for the basic starting resources. If you get unlucky with world gen, then even reeds for baskets can be miles away (15+ minutes solid running in a single direction). There's little reason to settle down until you have found the basics; reeds, clay, quern rock, trees etc. Just run run run until you find what you need. Mark everything! Ive deleted several worlds with 20+ hours playtime due to being unable to find certain things to progress gameplay. Sometimes you have to cut your losses if gathering salt will take a nine hour IRL round trip !
  8. 'Vintage Story' is an anagram of Stygivenator, which is a young Tyrannosaurus Rex. Fitting for the way this game is growing ?
  9. Does it work without the berries ?
  10. xXx_Ape_xXx, going to try this now. Thank you Edit Update: Disabling ram optimisation didnt work, I still have the stutter
  11. Fingers crossed for a speedy patch then
  12. I'm experiencing stutter, or very short freezing of the game after updating. In the whole time playing VS, I never encountered this before. Its generally fine for 10 - 40 mins, then I need to log out and back in again to fix the constant stutter / microfreezes. Nothing changed with my PC between versions and no issues whatsoever with other games. 64gig DDR5 5600 m 4070ti GPU 12gig Ryzen 7700 CPU I installed the requires .NET and there is nothing other than Microsoft services running in the background. Is this a known thing or any ideas please ? Thanks in advance (bonus VS tree fridge magnet my daughter made
  13. There is an option for using the true coloured map at world gen, but once you are in game use 'T' to open the command console then: .gm creative then /worldmap rendermode realistic then /worldmap rescan
  14. What I DO want: A huge overhaul of terrain generation, which is without a doubt the weakest area of the game at the moment. We need rivers, mountains, proper caves, 10000% less random sinkholes in the landscape and no floating islands. More survival mechanics, Required to drink, along with related crafting / mechanics for more drinks. Required to wash, or risk health issues and wider alert range for mobs. Toilet use maybe Weaving for rugs and clothes. What I DONT want: Magic or magic potions, this would take almost all of the charm out of the game for me.
  15. It would be great for things such as knapping, clay forming, smithing etc. Not so much fun in a pitch dark cave when your torch gets extinguished in some water, then you hear the bell...
  16. Fight Dave, and if you win he becomes a ridable mount
  17. I'd like to see spears sticking in the mob, slowing them by 10% per spear or similar. Weighted nets, crossbows and early firearms would be great too!
  18. Yup, eclipse. Imagine our poor ancestors IRL who experienced this with nothing but animal skins and a stone spear ! You mustve touched that historical feeling in your game at least
  19. I agree with you, torches are too bright now. Best case would be being able to adjust the number of sticks and dry grass when making torches, which would then affect their brightness. I would also love an adjustment knob for the lantern, so we can raise and lower the flame too.
  20. Tyron said this will be fixed in the next patch (if its due to you playing with temporal stability off). Fingers crossed thats soon https://github.com/anegostudios/vssurvivalmod/pull/110
  21. 1.20.9 didn't fix anything here unfortunately. Still have day mobs everywhere and looting windows not appearing.
  22. In the 1.20.9 Notes, it says "fixed mobs spawning where they shouldnt.". I've just installed the update and there are still midday Bowtorns everywhere, more in some cases than before this update. Haven't seen a daylight shiver though, so maybe those are fixed.
  23. Well a multi-role bird is fine by me : ]
  24. I agree the worldgen is VS's weakest part currently. Sinkholes to the center of the Earth every few tens of meters in open meadows is one thing that highlights this to me. That and the broken ground that is near impossible to travel through with block instability on. +1 for more Dev time on world gen before more story and other features
