Thick shrubbery? You mean free sticks! Where you see problems, I see solutions. -

Forest bases are great. You'll almost never run out of meat! -
The new player experience in this game is a bit of a disaster

Honestly, spawning the player in some dilapidated ruins that need repair before you can use it as shelter is probably a good idea too. I usually find ruins within 5 minutes of loading up a new world anyway. New players would probably feel less intimidated if they spawned into a semi-safe structure that could easily be used as a first home if needed. -

Veggies are pretty easy to spot, too. If someone goes from May to November without harvesting them or noticing they drop seeds and maybe they should try planting them... then I dunno how much a handbook guide can help them. -
WTF does that message mean?

We have to tell players to grow crops so they don't starve to death? Some people just deserve the pain. -

The handbook should pause the game by default in singleplayer, honestly. -
Screw it, I haven't heard any complaints yet. I've uploaded a public version to the modDB, I hope nothing goes wrong! ~1.17_v1.0.8~ - Corrected bug with simmering recipes - Cauldron & saucepan fit on meat hooks again - Logs look correct in oven - Large meat hook claymaking recipe updated

I've uploaded a pre-release for A Culinary Artillery on patreon here. If anyone who was crashing when trying to boil something could download it and try it out to let me know if they're still getting it, that'd help. Barring any issues, I'll have it released within a couple of days.

People say that about Primitive Survival constantly, lol

They do have a game to make, after all.

I do feel like torches are WAY brighter in my hand than when I place them on the floor. They're super bright if I just throw them without placing them, too - it's just placing them that seems a lot dimmer.

I doubt it. It's probably my fault.

I can explain this. Juice to syrup is not a simmer recipe. I literally just made it so juice cooks into syrup. Since you can't cook liquid on its own normally, this means you have to use a saucepan or cauldron in order to do so. Simmer recipes are only for turning 2 or more items into one item.

Try now?

I believe the ACA github should be public now. Can someone take a look and let me know?
-
I fixed the meat hook issues, but the oven, too? C'mon... it never ends, does it?
-
EF lets you cook MANY things in the oven. I believe vanilla just lets you cook bread and pies?
-
Oh, good!! It's not my fault!

It's a genuine question, I haven't used XSkills in a while so I might be misremembering.

I don't understand why that might be the source of so many people's problems. Is this a 1.17 thing?

I just did some testing and spiles collected sap from all 3 tree types (birch, maple, and pine) without issue. However, I think only the bucket works. The spile hasn't really been touched in like... a year and a half? It works fine but I should expand it to drip into any liquid container. EDIT: Also, dumplings are working totally fine for me. Are you connecting to a server that someone else is hosting, by any chance?

Adding pictures and gifs and nice formatting to the handbook would go a long way. Having an optional feature upon (singleplayer) world creation to make the world pause while the handbook is open would also help. As for people who don't want to read... I dunno. They'll go watch youtube or something.
