The painting idea is amazing, especially if you have some sort of RGB-based mixing system so you can have full spectrums of color at your disposal. Just add in a dozen or two base paints and let people make their own blends from there.

I always liked that lonely feeling I got from early Minecraft, so maybe having an option to spawn villages that don't have villagers and have a bunch of rotted food/rusting tools would be a nice compromise.

I get that. Then let me slather something on it to make it weatherproof, I'll take anything at this point.

That still seems really excessive for what amounts to throwing some planks down on the ground. What makes aged planks walkable but pine planks not? That's the part that gets me.

Do you take requests? It drives me insane that you need aged wood for wooden paths. Why? They're not even as good as the gravel paths you can make within 10 minutes of starting the game. I assume this is some kind of conscious design decision and it greatly upsets me that I need to go spelunking just so I can have a walkway around my garden.
