  1. fish and fishing in general needs a lot of work, i wouldnt even be mad if there was just the "fish update" that only added fishing, new fish mechanics, more fish and more ways to cook fish.
  2. i want to point out, the original post by pistok says japanese hotsprings, not yellow stone like ones, i dont see a reason why both types could exist in the game because as is said it would be great for roleplay and something builders could build around. sure firepits are cheaper and faster, but if we lived out lives being cheap and fast, then they would be boring no need to explain where it is, ive been there, fell in, worst family holiday ever 20 years ago. and can confirm, i didnt die from the heat.
  3. i feel like the game having more alternatives to warming up in winter other than firepit would be a great use for hot springs. add in a towel to dry yourself off to remove the soaking wet debuff and you got yourself a whole roleplay feature every builder would love.
  4. i agree with the comment made months ago talking about how chickens scare way too easily. the fact that they get spooked through walls aswell makes its worse. i understand that domestication is a huge part of the game but you just cant domesticate them without building your initial chicken coops away from your base.
  5. thats the risk you have to take, BUT 6x6 rooms from my experience are safe 90% of the time. furthermore, you do get warnings that a storm is incoming, so you have about 5-8 minutes to prepare. so just grab all the equipment you need to do some light work (you can do precision work with the distortion effect, hence why i suggested panning, it requires 0 accuracy) and i suggest that having at least 5 spears on hand is a good way to fight off any drifters no matter how high their level (thrown spears do far more damage than just stabbing with them). storms are only dangerous if you're outside or in huge rooms, single drifters on their own if you keep them at arms length are absolutely the best example of cowards in gaming, they throw rocks at you and agro for no reason, but the moment you fight back with any courage they flee
  6. i think that panning is probably the most productive thing you can do in a storm, its the perfect time to work through boney soil or get some copper and gems for trading from gravel. with the temporal distortions its basically gambling while drunk!
  7. the amount of mass grave ruins with skeletons in them i find in my single player worlds is concerning but human skulls are obtainable
  8. speaking as an animator, even adding 3 fingers and thumb would be a pain since the stub hands already exist and as mentioned every tool will need updated animations, and by judging from the new wolf animations meant to be implemented next update, the hand animations wont just be a quick thing. hands are really something animators and game devs need to think about at the very beginning of development. its not a quick addition. id safely say adding hands would add a year of extra work at minimum. but in terms of rings. id suggest just a added flat png texture layer to the hand that shows a ring where the finger would be on the hand. i cant describe it well but i can think of a way of adding rings to the game that doesnt require a complete overhaul of the games animations and models by adding fingers.
  9. you say that like its a bad thing, i love it when i throw a spear and it somehow hits my target 2 to 3 times.
  10. i disagree with having guns no matter how old, i just dont see them working with the setting myself. however late medieval cannons im all for

    Add Grapes

fine... ill be the one to say it, please add ducks and lemonade aswell
  12. my issue with minecraft is that it doesnt have a focus/a target audience. why try promote environmentalism is the only way to play the game is to build factory farms and strip mine entire biomes. why constantly try patch out automated farms when their official guide books teaches you how to build automated farms. why try market to kids but then balance the game for try hard hardcore speed runners. whats the point in added different mounts and selling merchandise that involves minecarts if eltrya kills off all reason for any of them to exist. why are they so hell bent on chasing the scp horror game market this late into its relevancy. why add so much redstone stuff which the redstone community never asks for or patch our its usefulness. is the game meant to be educational or unlimited creativity? for a game thats meant to be a sandbox it sure as hell rail roads you. also the best difference between vs and mc imo is that on mc servers its way too easy for a actual 6 year old to dominate an entire server
  13. the game definitely needs "workman's food". alot of food like sandwiches, pork pies and bottled drinks where simply meant for people to take a single meal with them to work in a place that wouldnt have proper cooking facilities such as a farm field, up a skyscraper or down a mine. it feels odd taking a bowl of stew down the mines in an open top bowl. the game definitely needs food that isnt meant to last in a cellar but keeps your character fully fed an entire day. also after typing the bowl of stew thing, id like to suggest a portable canteen/mess tin. it can hold a single bowl of stew but it lasts twice as long.
  14. 1. wrong sub forum for most of your questions. 2. 3 spear throws will kill a wolf 3. 1 fat and any hide will preserve the pelt or you can find a mod 4. ancient ruins kind of already are dead abandoned villages 5. light helps limit but doesnt stop drifter spawns, you may be building in temporally unstable areas so check if your gear is spinning or not and the deeper down you go the more drifters spawn
  15. im not gonna get political with this "but aktually" (nerd face emoji) pre industrial Europe was quite warm. more northern climates where warm enough to grow grapes and large buildings like cathedrals where built to cool people down rather than keep warm. furthermore the industrial era got super cold aswell, there was a period called the little ice age where most rivers in northern europe in industrial towns would freeze over, so the cities would be black from coal burning but the rivers bright white from being iced over. so my point is this, nothing, i just want an excuse to not do work so i wrote this instead
