I hope the next update will start fleshing out the early/mid-game experience
Krougal replied to Aklone's topic in Discussion
This is absolutely what happens. I had modded a guaranteed loot drop and it was just too easy. I got rid of it. -
Just feels... inadequate compared to modpacks that involve TFC+

Stop before Frank Sinatra rises from the dead and punches everyone in the face. -
i found some giant underwater (water filled) caves.

I would assume so, since they are solid blocks. -
That's just great...Thanks for sharing

Except much more slowly. See above post. It's 20 for chain. 36 for plate (which includes the 20 for chain).

Yeah, none of the MC exploits for water breathing work here. If I don't feel like using ladders (lately I am overloaded with sticks anyway, so I use them) then I pour a bucket of water at the top, dig down til I am almost out of air, and then dig a 1x1x2 and stand in it to top up air and then continue digging. For a cave you could dig 1 block overhead and then swim up; as long as your head is out of water you can get air. -
As I said earlier, does it really matter? It is going to take a lot of flax to repair that starter set of clothing that you probably don't have to waste. I make fur & rawhide clothes for first winter. If I have all the windmills I want and am not contemplating a ship in the near future, then I would make reindeer herder and the like instead of wasting cloth on tailoring kits. If you're still that bent on fairness, then I'd suggest the other sets get more of a boost instead of nerfing. As it is, I don't think it is an unreasonable ask for the same measly warmth on the hunter hood that every other hat item now has. Considering the rain bonus is in the asset file but does not seem to be applying for all I know the hood was supposed to get the warmth bonus too and it isn't working.

Prospecting is a broken system being replaced by mods. Let’s fix it.
Krougal replied to Rexvladimir's topic in Suggestions
Ok, I thought Prospecting together doesn't actually work properly (other than sharing data); in as far as the data it displays is bullshit because the game doesn't work that way.- 143 replies

Oh, the game doesn't seem to like subfolders in patches.

This is the way it has always been. Locks are to keep honest people honest.

Were these sows from before the final release of 1.21.0? Wasn't there a bug in the RC versions that made animals not breed?

Try: [ { "op": "replace", "path": "/0/output/quantity", "value": 8, "file": "game:recipes/grid/firewood.json", "side": "Server" } ] Unless you've got a syntax or formatting error or your folders are wrong, what you have should work; provided that isn't the entire file, you need the brackets.

My constantly evolving guide has an appendix of mods with commentary and links, although I mostly do bugfix/QOL mods. -
Oh, I figured it was like the hunters hood, which just has a description, but no durability or stats.

You all lack disciprine! Your first 3 loads of steel should go for pounder caps, a full set of chain mail, falx (silver or gold ornate as you like), and some tools. Chain takes 40 ingots. 2 for caps. 1 for sword. That leaves 5, at least 2 of which should go for pickaxes. You can use the other 3 for arrows. 27 steel arrows should last you a while if you make sure to retrieve them. If you want to upgrade that chain to plate, that will be another 32 ingots (16 plates). I don’t recommend scale or brigandine, but they are options as well. While steel hammers and other tools are nice, mostly for the durability, I'd keep using meteoric iron for all other tools until the above are done.

Mobs are definitely spawning during the day on the surface in 1.21.1 . Sometimes it is because of a rift, sometimes I think just because if there is enough tree cover to provide shade, but I am seeing them wandering during the day a lot. I am also having a lot more spawning in the house. I typically have 7x7 rooms with hanging oil lantern in center, technically the corners are dark enough for spawns, but it has always been very rare for me. Now it is near constant.

Heh, and here I thought it was by design.

Guide: Multiple Parallel Installations of Vintage Story
Krougal replied to Streetwind's topic in Guides
Did you set a Windows environment path for VS by any chance? I had to remove that as it was giving me trouble last time I tried to run a parallel installation. -
Oh, I expect both. Yes, some of the hoods don't give any even still, but it could be argued they are not made for the outdoors. The hunters definitely is. I'd mod it if it isn't there, but I am not sure where the warmth values are. The rain resistance looks like it should be working from the code. Warmth might be there too and not working since I suspect it might be because there is no durability, same as your malefactor shirt.
