  1. I tend to forget about shield. And I defer to lightsource over shield when caving.
  2. Might be andesite instead of granite. But I agree the reddish one is chert.
  3. Jonas' father has the surname Falx who was a mercenary turned noble whose son (Jonas) creates the falx to better fight drifters and the sword is subesquently named after him. I think it is a fitting literary device.
  4. There also remains the straight bladed Blackguard sword, unique item for blackguards.
  5. Land octopus. GIANT land octopus. Call 'em Cthulhu's minions.
  6. Herobrine. Definitely something he'd do.
  7. All you got it wrong! It's --> /.raindance begin
  8. These pictures always makes me think there was some horrific erosion that went on. In this case that horizontal line of soil emphasizes that impression for me.
  9. I was thinking more along the lines of effects that aren't available through class selection, something like a jump boost to allow jumps of 2 or 3 blocks. Not exactly magical flight, but not exactly scientific either. Again, that is my hope; but with the roadmap changing the verbiage to herbalism/brewing, new bandages when distilling was added and the recent change to healing; we might have a more detailed system of creating poultices/bandages.
  10. Holy necro DynoMutt!
  11. I was hoping for a psuedo-scientific alchemy to create some almost "magical" status effects. Not exactly potions and not exactly magical outcomes.
  12. Those are ascii arts on the signs. You have to type the characters onto the sign.
  13. I was just poking fun at my friend. It seems like he enjoyed the brotherly ribbing based on his reaction.
  14. We are talking steam age transportation. @idiomcritter yes, push cart would be beneficial. I'm thinking a full 36 space trunk would be good.
  15. Expect MOST (if not all) mods to break once a pre-release is released. The pre-release is made so modders can update their mods before the release candidates start coming out. Expect about 6 weeks between pre-release and RC 1.
  16. 150% sounds right for the cap, it should get there in like 5 applications. Interesting.
  17. Ever since 1.15 (when I started playing) traders were more often than not unlit. Rarely have I found a trader provide their own lantern.
  18. ^^^THIS^^^ edit - I'm looking at you @Thorfinn
  19. Shall we also speculate on how many steel plates it'll take to make the boiler? Willing to bet it'll be worse than the copper required for brewing/distilling.
  20. Mm. Hm. Share your interesting (aka odd) finds here.
  21. Yep. This is what separates the old farts from the new farts. I recall fleeing from a wolf for nearly 1,000 blocks in 1.16/17. Now? I'm lucky if they give chase more than 50 blocks.
  22. Recently found a meteor in the cliff face before finding my first copper nugget. edit - @Thorfinn Added screenshot here:
  23. Good question. Don't know, but it's usually a few weeks, upto about 6 weeks in my experience. edit - The pre-release is to give modders a chance to update their mods by the time release candidates come out. Between now and the first RC, Tyron and co are squashing bugs and mashing issues.
  24. It's been on the roadmap for a long, looooong time. Ever since I discovered this game way back in 1.14. Given how the boats were implemented and the boiler in the RA, I would think almost everything is in place for steam power. My big concern is how much material it will take to craft rails that cover a long distance. It seems that rails are intended to be the method of transporting copious amounts of items, like ore, stone, logs, etc.
  25. You must be caught in a temporal storm if you've played 1.21 for 2 months. It's only been a week for the rest of us. Bummer. Thems being so aggressive was a rite of passage. I guess we'll now have old farts and new farts in VS going forward depending on how aggressive the wildlife was.
