  1. @l33tmaan Hey quick question. One of my pine buckets actually has resin in it. So how exactly do you extract it from the bucket>
  2. OK I think you got me on the path I want to be on. I have the game running and the trampoline block in game and it's working. After going through this I feel my biggest issues are the Visual Studio dev environment. I'm so used to banging away with compiled languages like Python that I get confused when having to consider all the things required for C programming in VS. I'm sure I'm going to continue having issues with it, but for now I know how to get some code working in the game via VS. Thanks a megaton for this too!
  3. You can use the spile from this mode and plug it into a pine tree and place a bucket below it to gather "soft resin". That soft resin should eventually turn into the same resin you get from the side of pine trees. I have yet to see that happen in game as l33tmaan set the curing time to something like 6 in game months. I've just been tweaking the times in the json to try and witness the soft resin turn into hard resin.
  4. I guess that makes sense. Only newly generated "soft resin" would be affected after changing the json file.
  5. Hmm. Another question, when does the timer actually start? Maybe changing the time in the json isn't affecting resin that's already been harvested?
  6. @l33tmaan Just an FYI. I reduced the cure time for the soft resin down to 10 hours to test it. Nothing really happened after a few days. If I'm storing the "fresh resin" in a barrel. How exactly does it come out? Is it supposed to turn into "resin" and put itself in the barrels inventory slot?
  7. I'm trying to learn the C# modding process for the game but I'm finding the guide on the wiki to be not very helpful. I'm a developer myself (mostly Python), so I thought I'd be able to pick this up pretty quickly. But it feels like the guide assumes a lot of prior knowledge. Especially when it comes to setting up a Visual Studio project and getting started with the mod. It starts off with walking through how to code for a trampoline, but it doesn't mention importing the libraries. It only shows that at the end with the full code example but doesn't explain why you need it. Plus, it doesn't really walk you through how to test out this code in game. Any ways, it's not a very comprehensive guide and seems to require some advanced knowledge. Granted, I've only done a handful of C based projects in the past, so I am missing some knowledge. But I was hoping for more of a basic step-by-step guide for writing a C# mod. So does anyone know if a more comprehensive guide exists? I'm really interested in learning the modding system as there are things I'd like to try and add. But this has been a bit of a wall for me. Maybe I need to go and take a few C# courses first?
  8. Are there any mods that allow for smelting of unused metal tools and weapons? I have a LOT of copper spear and arrow heads that I get from panning gravel. Seems a shame to have to just dump them.
  9. Cool. I'll try that out and see how it balances. Totally get not wanting it to be too easy.
  10. 61 days?!! That's 6 months in game (for the default 9 day months). Is that a real life number? For as little as I'm getting from the trees that curing times seems long for in game. Just my opinion, but you might want to tweak that to make it feasible for in game farming of resin.
  11. @l33tmaan hey so the soft pine resin. Do I just put this in a barrel and wait? Do I need to do anything else to it? How long do I have to wait for it to turn into hard resin?
  12. You need to make the dough first, Do that in the normal crafting window. Then mix the dough and berries.
  13. Yup, you're right. Looking at the sky allowed me to drink. Good to know. And yes, the hammer above the meat.

    Scary music

    Buzzsaw scorpions?
  15. So can you drink from the bottles? And sweet! I guess the last time I tried I did something wrong with the hammer.

    Scary music

I was under ground pretty deep mining some copper. When I started hearing this really creepy music that reminded me of a saw running. I've never heard the music get that distinctive before and it seemed like it meant something, but I booked it before I could find out. Does anyone know if that meant anything?
  17. Hey a few things. How do you make soup? I made carrot juice but thought I could drink it. Says it's used for soup. Is it possible to make it so we can use a hammer to make flattened meat? I was getting the stone slab, meat bug I saw mentioned above.
  18. That would be helpful thanks! Just sent me a message to my profile here.
  19. @l33tmaan Is lard part of your mod? I'm still trying to figure out how to make candles. The Handbooks says "one handful of fat in the saucepan". If it is then I'm having trouble rendering the fat into lard. I made a saucepan but nothing happens when I put fat into it. Edit: Huh, so the old "3 wax" recipe still works.
  20. Man those bottles and buckets always trip me up. They don't really show the ingredients.
  21. Hmm, I was wondering if that's what was happening. Do you know what the default recipe is? It's not listed on the wiki.
  22. For some reason I can't make candles with the recipe in the handbook. Anyone else having issues with this?
  23. I don't think the point is to make you play through each age. The first map I played I couldn't find any tin or any other alloys of bronze. But I had a lot of iron deposits. So I had to buy a bronze pick to jump start the iron production. The second map I play was filthy with tin but I had a hard time finding iron. It really comes down to map gen as to what type of game you'll be playing.
  24. Yeah I saw those and am using one. I was just curious about the decision.
