  1. The "snow pile giving elevation for animals to jump out of the fenced areas" thing happened to me. The animals can also walk onto the troughs which gives them block-high elevation as well... the solution in my case was just building the fences two blocks high (RIP my precious sticks). Personally I think snow piles shouldn't have collision and animals shouldn't be able to walk on top of troughs.
  2. I managed to find the following info on the wiki: "Tall grass that is cut does not regenerate on soil blocks." Is this rule absolute? Does this mean that once I cut tall grass, the grassy block will NEVER produce tall grass again? This severely impacts harvesting hay for animal feed. Until now I believed tall grass growth is related to temperature and it will always regrow - I noticed that planting soil blocks outside results in them being covered in grass and tall grass spawning (somethings right before my eyes). So is the only effective method of farming tall grass to "replant" vast patches of soil after digging it out?
  3. Aaah, nevermind, I just found out items despawn after 10 minutes when in a loaded chunk. Rest in piece 4 linen sacks and copper lantern...
  4. After dying from a rabid FOX of all things, I was confident I could find my dropped items based on photographic memory. After two in-game days of frantic scouring over the landscape I had to reconsider. Is there ANY way of extracting coordinates regarding my death from the game files? I found log files documenting my damage taken and death, but they do not include coordinates, only the timestamps... Question two is: I had a copper lantern crafted, which, like all other items, dropped on death. I assume that light sources dropped as lootable items still give off light, correct? So technically it should be easy to find my death's location when it's dark outside? I use no mods.
