Much appreciate you help and explanations so far, and not to forget your time spent. So thank you, Brady. I've just compared your version to mine and came to the conclusion that the only thing that caused the shapes to not apply was the "survival" folder, which came from the ModMaker's initial creation of the mod.. How very interesting! But your help has solved my mystery, and has helped me learn. I'll be able to achieve now what I had in mind. Thank you once again.

[ { "op": "add", "path": "/variantgroups/0/states/7", "value": "rhizome", "file": "game:itemtypes/food/bread.json", "side": "Server" } ] This created a new bread-type, and it functions, including the new shape I had made. I initially added a shape to the VS files as well before extracting the mod from the ModMaker. Upon loading the mod through the mods folder and having returned the VS files to their original state the mod worked, but lacked the shapes and thus also the textures. How do I go about fixing it?. rhizometest.zip

Peculiar Portions FKA: Wild Rhizome Addon by quihyr Welcome to my first mod ever! Adds peculiar new things to a portion of your Vintage Story. (See below for examples.) Peculiar Porridge: Geophytes are plants that have built-in storm shelters underground, known as: bulbs, corms, tubers and rhizomes. (Think of cattails, tule and papyrus.) This mod tries to expand their uses by adding various starch grains that you can extract from them, to be used in baking and meal making. Harvesting the starch grain from any geophyte is done by using a knife and some water in the crafting grid. In addition you'll be able to cut roots from cattail, thatch and papyrus bundles. Making it possible to farm rhizomes. Though be aware, a perish time for roots has been added.. Other peculiar additions: I've added a reed hat, because I though the game could use one! DO NOT COPY. Available to download on the ModDB: https://mods.vintagestory.at/peculiarportions

Managed to set up the server through Something Unique Hosting, and everything seems to work flawlessly! Had some trouble uploading my singleplayer world cause of the file size, but the support was super quick and helpful.

That is very good to know, and seems very straightforward. Thank you @Never Jhonsen!

Hallo fellow Vintarians, I had some questions regards starting a multiplayer world with a friend, modded. For starters, I presume the time in the world will keep advancing if no one is online. How would we manage food preservation? And what about the farms, if it suddenly reaches winter temperatures while we're not online to manage them? Is there any difficulty in adding mods to a server, or something I should keep in mind that wouldn't be obvious? And any recommendations for hosting the server? Sadly the official server option from Anego Studios don't include mod support yet. I'd probably preferred to have chosen that if I could.

Very interesting way to look at us, the player-character/seraph.

More uses for alloys could work if done appropriately, yes. That being said, lead anvils wouldn't make any sense.

The first time I stumbles on this game and played it, I died so many times not knowing what to do. Trying to craft and survive like in Minecraft and expecting it to be the same. Then I quit, cause it wasn't... I didn't understand how to play. And that's fine. Years later I came back to Vintage Story, took some time to learn how to play, what the mechanics are. Watched some video's on YouTube. Learning about mods, and how to create a world to my specific tastes. Now I am pretty certain I'll love this game forever, and I highly respect the devs for their hard work and dedication. And their vision of the game, the story. I enjoy the "grind," and a lot of the functions adds realistic immersion. (Like the forging, amazing! ) Though I do agree that some aspects need some finetuning. I always crank up surface ore, cause I cannot be bothered to spend 4+ hours looking for copper bits. But that's just it, the game isn't done. It's a work in progress.. And just like the gameplay, I'm here for the journey!

Map locations and Schematics storable on Scroll Racks

That would be a neat feature, though probably not on the priority list. -
Thanks for this thorough guide, I'm now able to play it on my Steam Deck. Much appreciated!

That's just hilarious, haha!

Made this cinematic recently, which is inspired by the Story Event Logs that appear when loading a world. Hope you all enjoy it. I don't know much about the lore, I've only reached the Bronze Age with no lore yet discovered. Hope you all have/had a good time during the holidays, I wish you all a happy new year and a good and healthy 2025! ~quihyr
