I use two: Accessibility Tweaks and Buzzwords. Though, I am thinking that the two are not compatible as I have not gotten the latter to work since I installed it. The only things I have changed in AT is doubling the volume of wild beehives and turning off psychedelics.

First off, I had to Google what an "IDE" even was, lol. My experience with mods mainly consists of TOBG and Stardew Valley mods. Both of which can and, in the case of SDV, SHOULD be compiled in Notepad first. Secondly, I have edited the above post to further define what I meant. Essentially, if the only input by the human creator was a text prompt into a program of their choosing, then that is an AI mod that I want to be informed of. I consider myself "Pro-choice" in terms of AI, but I cannot accurately make said choice if I am not aware of it.
-
Before this topic gets locked (which is why I have not commented on all the others, fyi), I will just clarify that I was suggesting separating the "AI" tag into three: "AI graphics/thumbnail", "AI-coded", and "Full AI". Even something as simple as a REQUIREMENT for modders who use AI programs to mention it in their mods' descriptions would suffice for me. I understand that individuals are not corporations, but the U.S. laws requiring them to clearly label AI would work wonders here. Now I am going back into obscurity, thank you. EDIT: By "AI program", I mean such programs like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and the like. Essentially, the programs that require data centers to work.

All I want is a filter that will tell me if a mod is AI-coded or just an AI thumbnail. Generative AI "art" is advancing past what I can tell what is real or not. A thumbnail is something I have to look at once and then ignore. AI code is permanent and something I WILL NOT support. I was looking for a mod the other day that would make certain things glow after I could not get the Buzzwords mod to work. The only one I found was the Finder mod which I had to go to the creator's website to find out was completely AI-coded.

Personally, I like the concept of more story, lol. While I have not actually gotten to most of the story bits in my current game, I HAD managed to at least get that started on my previous laptop before the motherboard fried and I lost everything but my screenshots. For reference, I am fifteen hours in and just beginning the Copper Age on my current save. The prospect of more story keeps me here. As for the logo, I am most intrigued by 1B, to be honest. Though, as mentioned by someone else above, I would consider modifying the font. I tend to judge logos based on whether they would look good on a T-shirt (regardless of if I could fit into said shirt) and that font would likely NOT look good on clothing. The font is barely legible to me.

What embarrassing "noob" mistakes did you make starting out?

Well, I can say that I have done almost everything listed here and I have been playing for nearly a year, lol. One I learned recently is to press "Shift + H" on every mushroom I find. 1.22's introduction of psychedelics did a number on my Epilepsy. Accessibility Tweaks has become my friend. -
Of course, my laptop breaks and remains in the shop for two weeks and NOW 1.22 appears with two patches, lol. Time to download everything again. I had no choice but to upgrade to an i5.

As with the other block game, I will wait for the first stable release to play it, lol. I have gotten a job that means I can only play once a week (if that), anyway. Though, if I may, I would like to mention the need for a setting to turn the intensity of the Mushroom effects down WITHOUT a mod please. Even the gif caused me issues with my Epilepsy. EDIT: I should clarify that I mean the GRAPHICAL intensity. I quite like the realism of different mushrooms having different effects. -
Well, I think the screenshot speaks for itself, but I WILL mention that the male deer spawned in there, lol. I was coming back from making my SECOND farm plot after I barely survived my first Winter (I removed all the Tule within a 200-block radius of my base in order to do so) and found him in there with my Generation 1 pigs. I only had ONE arrow at the time, so he is still there when I quit the game a few days later. Arrowheads are my problem, apparently. I have not started the story proper yet, though that is on the agenda once my first crops for the season are ready to harvest.

As one of the said "potato users" (at least graphics wise), while I like the idea of EPIC mountains, I would much rather be able to run the game smoothly. I FINALLY left the other game due to my 2014 graphics card not having the system requirements to run it at more than 20 fps WITH performance-enhancing mods. VS as it is now is MUCH MORE optimized. EDIT: I will also mention that I personally live in the real Ozarks Mountains... I have yet to see a game (that I can run) do them justice, lol.

I had a world a few weeks ago where I lost FOUR peat veins that were fairly near each other thanks to lighting a pit kiln, lol. The unfairness of having fire spread on.

Okay, this is the last thing I will post on this thread: THAT was my way of saying to look up something BEFORE you claim it as true. You said that "no one streams this game" and when I correct you, you laugh at me. Who are you to say that a streamer is not a good one if YOU DO NOT WATCH SAID STREAMER? I know that no one can watch every stream that exists, but newsflash: Just because a streamer does not get many viewers NOW does not mean they are not a good streamer. Streaming works similarly to how YouTube works...it can take YEARS for someone to get recognized. I have streamer friends who can attest to that. Also, you suggested that VS adds something similar to Redstone to the game...I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Mojang/Microsoft has that COPYRIGHTED. Anything Anego adds along those lines would likely lead to a lawsuit that AS would likely not be able to win. They are already towing the line as it is. With that, I make my leave of this thread.
-
Okay, you and I have different outlooks on the situation. You seem, from what I have read, to believe that any game that does not have THOUSANDS of daily streamers/viewers is a dead game on Twitch/YouTube. Whereas I, and it looks like many others in this thread, believe that ANY AT ALL means Vintage Story is worth something to the individuals who play/watch the game. Blame my autism if you want, but I DID NOT originally post on this thread to argue with anyone. I am out before I say anything to get ME in trouble.
-
@BMiBudzYT, no one streams it you say? I must correct you there. If GeminiTay had not started streaming it back in May, I would not be here today. I have since seen others, but their names elude me at the moment.

Bedrock is increasingly becoming a game where if you want to do anything cool with it outside of Redstone (which I do not understand and have made an entire YouTube channel off that fact), you have to pay for it. I was one of the last players to get Bedrock for free before that promotion went away and I did not even have Windows 10 at the time. I do not want to see Anego Studios go the same route. I understand creators have to be compensated, but still. I am largely taking a break from MC because of that.

As someone who owns and has played BOTH versions of the other block game, Project Glint is giving me major "Bedrock" vibes. I am hoping that I am proven incorrect. Ideally, I would have liked to see Vintage Story fully finished before the team makes another game, but I am a relative newbie THAT HAS LEARNED from the previous posts on this thread. I have not even gotten to the Wind power of this game, though, from what I have heard, it makes MUCH MORE SENSE here than the other game's Create mod that I despise with a passion. I am also not a Redstoner on the other game. EDIT: I should probably clarify that I have NO grievance with either version of the other block game. I went to Bedrock after Caves and Cliffs locked me out of playing Java smoothly.

As a fellow Epileptic, I wish I could do this without mods. I BARELY have the system requirements to even run the game, so mods are a no-go. As others have said, Temporal Storms currently have no real purpose. I have them turned off for that reason as well as medical issues.

Thank you very much! That explains why I have seen no spawns of anything, lol. -
trapping Why is my rabbit trap not working? (NOT basket trap)
FairyKairi posted a topic in Questions
Please bear with me as this is my first forum post despite being a player for over a month now, lol. So my current save (100% vanilla, no mods as I could not run them anyway) is currently in the middle of Autumn (12-day months), but I have proven myself a lousy hunter and thus have like two pelts to my name after two rabbits got stuck in a hole while I was out exploring. In my desperation, I Googled how to make a rabbit trap. A Reddit post from about a year ago mentioned a rabbit trap with a vegetable lure (pictured), so I made it. Soon after, I realized that no hares spawned in the area I originally put it, so I moved it near an Agriculture Trader to the northeast of where I had it. I HAVE seen both hares and wolves (which I died to multiple times) in the area. The trap pictured has been there at least four days and NOTHING has spawned. Why is it not working? I have plans for basket traps in another area, but I keep forgetting where I put them, lol. EDIT: I did find another Reddit post from eight months ago that mentioned the same trap, so it MIGHT be 1.21's fault.
