  1. I don't know what's wrong with the vinegar, but it just doesn't seem to work for pickling, or much of anything else, really. Aside from Brine, the ingredients for pickling just show blank, with no tooltip. The handbook entry for the fruit vinegar does show it's used for pickling though. Brine works as expected. Using expanded foods 1.7.4 Modlist in spoiler
  2. Example /giveblock game:tapestry-north{"type":"tempstorm11"} 1 s[] Enable developer mode with extended debug info in settings. Hover over an existing tapestry in your inventory with the mouse to get the "type" attribute. I don't have a list.
  3. adding raw sausage as an ingredient to soup gives a broken name. It was a redmeat sausage with cheese and salt.
  4. The storage mod has "ceiling jars", where you can put hundreds of berries in to dry relatively quickly. Otherwise you have the vanilla shelves. Just fill a wall with them. in your basement. Make sure the basement is at most 7 blocks in any direction to still count as a basement for food preservation. Use a knife on the side of a piece of raw meat, fish, or vegetable in the crafting grid. for meat you have to smash it first with a stone, hammer, or rolling pin.
  5. @l33tmaan Can't make Au Gratin. Other recipes, like salad work fine. Also issues are disabled on the github page. Maybe it'd be wise do open them, because forums aren't very good for tracking issues.
  6. Gen 4 goats still run away for me. I don't know when they will stop doing so, but if it's gen 10 (as shown on the wiki) then goats are really completely inferior to bighorn sheep, which can be milked at gen 1 (although it is annoying if it doesn't work and they go aggressive), and reliable milked at gen 3. But goats still run away at gen 3, making them just as impossible as gen 1. I tried holding them in place with a rope, but the rope snaps. It's completely impossible to milk them when they run around like crazy.
  7. @Xandu Do you have a github repo for bug reporting? Forums are quite cumbersome for this kind of thing. Anyhow here are two bugs i have encountered. When switching the little helper window with the "Sort", "^" and "v" buttons to movable, it vanishes and I can't get it to show up again. I had expected that I can move that window around like all the others, but now it's just gone. I did that while a chest was open. Edit: Nevermind. It popped in the top left corner, hidden behind the hud clock mod. With this mod active, I can't add small amounts of fluids to Expanded Foods' mixing bowl anymore, only whole container's worth, this affects buckets, jugs, bowls and bottles. So right now I have to dump whatever amount of fluid I don't want into a barrel, then put in what is left over in the container, and then scoop up what was left in the barrel. I also can't transfer liquids between those containers and buckets on the ground in small amounts either. Only barrels seem to accept small amounts.
  8. @jakecool19 All those features are not related to one another and should therefore be part of different, individual mods. This allows for users to pick and choose the parts that they want or not want. It also is more easy to keep up to date (on your end) and to find bugs because there are fewer places to look. In contrast adding all your ideas into one monolithic mod forces everyone to either take it all or nothing or edit the mod themselves to suit their needs. For example I'm interested in the sluice but I don't care about extra shields at all. The game already has a lot of shields for me to pick from. Similarly other features would clash with other, existing mods that I use. That wouldn't be an issue if i could just get the sluice on it's own without all the other stuff.
  9. I'd like to propose the following mod idea: A steam engine to generate mechanical power, producing about the overall torque as 2 large windmills in a storm at sea level, but more compact and convenient but at the expense of maintenance and resources. It has 3 parts to it that are placed individually: - A boiler - A normal fire pit - A piston that connects to a flywheel, which in turn is the attachment point for your axles Water is placed into the boiler. It has an interface similar to a barrel, but instead of one bar showing how full it is, it also shows pressure. When the fire pit is burning beneath the boiler, the temperature in the boiler raises. when at 100°C, it generates pressure. Depending on the pressure, the system generates torque. Depending on the pressure at the time, an amount of water proportional to that pressure is released from the boiler if the system is moving. If the system is not moving the pressure will raise more. Once the system is moving the pressure will be constant. The speed should be fairly slow, encouraging to build a transmission. Adding additional torque sources will reduce the amount of water being used, but not the fuel consumption. No pressure can be had beneath 100°C.
  10. This would be less of an issue with the code being on github with some permissive licence like apache, mit or gpl
