  1. I got lucky with borax in my world, but have never seen a treasure hunter, lol.
  2. I agree. I feel like early game access to food is maybe subject to a bit too much variance. The world generation around crops and berries maybe just needs to be more smooth so you can't get borked by RNG too hard.
  3. I agree that drifters should be more likely to drop SOMETHING. I don't think it's too much to ask if they just drop a flax fiber all the time if nothing else. I like that getting a saw opens up the game so much since boards are so important. note you can transfer water with bowls prior to that. I agree early game hunger meter is unforgiving. Getting over the farming hump is big.
  4. This is kind of how I feel about it. I kind of like the idea, but am worried adding steps to early game processes might be a bit offputting to brand new players trying to do early game pottery.
  5. It was made very recently (with a lot of help from @The Insanity God) and is perfectly stable and works well! I called it Steady Greenhouses but it is not published. Not sure sure when and if I might publish it, but I'll put the files here and anyone who wants it can use it. EDIT: Note that this has only been tested for single player. No idea if it would work on servers... SteadyGreenHouses.zip

    gutted

I noticed I still lose a ton of nutrition points upon death even with the item loss off. I do like the idea of an optional rez sickness or a loss of stability as well. I'm all for death penalties, I just dread losing my hard earned stuff too much!
  7. Not sure it's fair to hold bad mods against the actual VS devs. Changes that break old mods are hard to avoid while the game is still in development.
  8. I'm pretty sure that real clay will usually dry over the course of a day or so just sitting in a box. Maybe a heat source will speed this up though. I have mixed feelings on the idea, since this IS realistic, but would be a bit painful for trying to get those first few things like a cocking pot and a few bowls early game.
  9. yeah.... I'm wondering that looking at some of these HUGE lists. I bet some people here spend more time messing with their mods than actually playing the game, lol. I use one mod only, the one I made with some help to make greenhouses a steady 20 C no matter what it is outside. I've thought about tweaking the .JSON files a few times for different things but so far have not done so.
  10. It would be kind of nice if there was a dialog box that let you decide how many hours to sleep (up to the bed limit of course). But especially during winter I often like the ability to just pass the time rapidly.
  11. Before making enough torch holders for my base, I'd obsessively take them down and put them back up every day to never let them burn up. ....which gets a bit tedious in addition to not being realistic. I agree ideally you'd feed grass into them.
  12. I feel old.... lol. I like seeing people's signatures but don't know what to put for my own. Some people are being a bit grouchy in this thread! EDIT: Want to add that only a very classless dragon would put ketchup on a human or other kind of meat! lol.
  13. do you have a low resolution on your PC? Maybe try temporarily increasing resolution on your PC to match what VS is set at. then hopefully you can lower them both.
  14. What I mean is, which fills you up better per grain used. Bread is more satiety per grain, but maybe not as good given that bread doesn't pause the hunger meter. Pies also have a hunter pausing effect. I was trying to get at which is more "optimal" but agree with the pole consensus that pies are more fun!
  15. It would be very helpful to list out what mods you are trying to use. It sounds likely the mod(s) are not made for Mac.
  16. Bread gives more satiety than porridge but porridge has that hunger freezing effect. So I was wondering if anyone ever did the math about which one actually fills you up better? I'm also just curious about what people just like to do more. I know enjoy making a pie every now and again even if it just takes the most time to prepare.
  17. same with showing coal types instead of always firewood. I think greenhouses could use some improvement. Crops shouldn't sway with the wind in greenhouses. Crops also shouldn't turn white like they have snow on them in greenhouses. I also think the heat bonus of them should be configurable. The default of just +5 is pretty useless relative to how big of an investment they are. I got a mod for this, but I feel this should be an option in vanilla since by default, they are kind of pointless.
  18. Ebony and Purple heart are the correct answers! ...my survival world mostly uses birch because that was what was more available.
  19. Yeah, A LOT of what is on google or the wiki even is out of date. That's why many people recommend using an alternative world that is switched to creative to test this kind of thing.
  20. Hi there! I don't speak or read german well but used a translator to see what you said. Make sure you check your spam folder. It shouldn't take long at all.
  21. I just tested this in my creative mode game, and it doesn't work. Can't seem to mix and match ores in the same bloomery. I highly recommend having a separate game in creative mode for testing stuff like this before you risk precious resources in survival. I like to start the game in normal survival, then switch it to creative back and forth with: --to switch it to creative. /gm 2 --to switch it back to survival. /gm 1
  22. I was confused nobody knew this was just a world setting till realizing how old the original question was, haha.
  23. If it's dancing back and forth slowly, that means you are in a stable area, with full sanity.
  24. Agreed. I don't see this as that big of a deal. ...but it is clearly a bug. It's an easy mistake to make as a bug, but seems too absurd to do on purpose. I also can understand why it's not necessarily the highest priority for them to fix.
  25. Don't got one at the moment, but I was already thinking of ways to brute force it to figure out which one it is.... I'll do that when I am feeling less lazy, haha. thanks! I have a TON of iron ore but very little resin for mechanical parts and not enough linen for the sails yet. I'm sure this can happen at different rates for all sorts of reasons.
