Crick Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 I think that sitting should ever so slightly reduce your rate of hunger, similar to how holding something in your off-hand increases the hunger rate. It goes without saying that in real life, standing does consume more calories than sitting, so this minor tweak would be a welcome addition to the game. This could also potentially be used strategically in tense situations with low amounts of food, or waiting for something to finish cooking. 4
Thorfinn Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 Agreed. As should sleeping. It's not all that much, though. Maybe 25% tops. That didn't get included sometime? I thought it did. Shows how often I sit or sleep in the game. 2
ifoz Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 I legitimately always assumed that it did! Whenever I was clay forming or just waiting out a temporal storm, I would always sit because I assumed it lowered hunger. I back this suggestion 100%! 1
LadyWYT Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 I meant to comment on this earlier and I forgot. But yes, I agree that sitting should reduce your hunger rate! There's been many a time that I've been sitting in the safety of my shelter, flipping through the handbook while waiting for night/temporal storm to pass, and wondering why sitting doesn't reduce the rate of stamina loss. Now granted, I typically don't have issues staying fed in the game, even playing my beloved Blackguard, but when I'm say...traveling and want my rations to last longer, having a sit-down by the campfire while waiting for dawn would be a great way to do it. 1
Streetwind Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 It actually does. It's just not reflected in the C menu. As in: you don't get a modifier to your consumption rate, but rather, the consumption rate itself changes under the hood. Weirdly enough, the single most low-consumption activity you can do is just standing still. It gets a bigger reduction than sitting or even sleeping. It's not realistic - but it's intentionally done this way to let people go AFK more easily on multiplayer servers. 4 1

I find this a bit odd. Just how much of an inconvenience is it to press G before going AFK? Nonetheless, would still appreciate seeing the stats reflected in the character menu.
