Michael Gates Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 It doesn't yield more nails per ingot than the smaller one, and it's more than twice as much work. Why would you ever use this, instead of smithing the 1-ingot recipe twice? I've gotta be missing something here.

Michael Gates Posted September 12, 2024 Author Report Posted September 12, 2024 Yes, that's what I mean. It's still four nails *per ingot*. Running the smaller recipe twice takes less work and gets the same output.
Thorfinn Posted September 12, 2024 Report Posted September 12, 2024 Completeness, I'd guess. Use the 2-ingot plate. It's a lot easier. 3

Would be great if we got even just one extra for the two ingot version so at least we get a little bonus for the effort. 2

Thorfinn is correct. Ever since they made it so that you can use plates for smithing, it makes certain recipes a lot easier. If you have a helvehammer ready, the plate recipe is a lot more convenient to work with, otherwise you're better off using the singleton recipe. Once you've felt the utter convenience of plate smithing though, it's really hard to go back. Especially for recipes like chainmail which is just punching in holes. Nilomck Posted November 18, 2024 Report Posted November 18, 2024 In my current game I tried to make the double nail recipe and it wont let me place the second ingot down on top to form it. nothing happens at all or it just picks up the unfinished one.
xXx_Ape_xXx Posted November 18, 2024 Report Posted November 18, 2024 @Nilomck Shift-click to place the second ingot. 1
Nilomck Posted November 22, 2024 Report Posted November 22, 2024 Yep it wasn't that it was some mod conflict and I got it resolved but now I'm having a really weird issue where its duplicating items they are left floating on screen but nothing to actually pick up so going mod to mod to figure out which one is causing the issue.
