Sérgio Gamito Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Hello all, this is my first post on the forums, and to be honest i didnt know if this type of post was here or in the questions forum, so, if its out of place my apologies. I bouht this game to my daughter, as she loves survival games and also the other game similar to Vintage Story, i was looking something nice for her and i stumble on VS, and i fell in love with it, and it was a fantastic bet as my daughter also loves it. That being said, i watched her playing for a couple of days, i also did some research and found the game have a huge modding support, which is awsome. I decided to try it for myself and i do enjoy the game a lot, although, it feells lonely, i still dont understand the various game mods yet, the stone age one says im the only human? That means thee other game mods have NPC's besides merchants? And lastely, if there aren't any, is there a mod that populate the world? Sorry if i typed errors, english is not my native language, and thanks in advance for any replies, Happy new year to everyone!

The game offers several modes. From what you are writing here, I assume, that you are playing the Homo Sapiens mode, which removes all lore content, including any NPCs. 13 minutes ago, Sérgio Gamito said: That means thee other game mods have NPC's besides merchants? In the current stable version (1.19.8) the other game modes only include merchant NPCs. However, this will change with the upcoming version (1.20.0). This update will add more lore content, including several lore locations, which includes one village with inhabitants. 15 minutes ago, Sérgio Gamito said: And lastely, if there aren't any, is there a mod that populate the world? There is one big mod that adds villages and more NPCs to the game. It's called VS Villages and comes with several addons. 1
Sérgio Gamito Posted January 2 Author Report Posted January 2 Thank you so much for your reply, i will take a look at that mod, i hope in the future the world gets more live and immersive with more villages 2
ifoz Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Welcome to VS! Basically, the 'stone age' gamemode (homo sapiens) removes all lore content. That means it removes all ruins, traders, supernatural enemies, story locations, NPCs, and all of the associated items like the majority of furniture and clothing, as well as all of the magitech items. The other modes have all of this content, including the merchant NPCs. In the upcoming 1.20 update (which is slated to release in about 1-2 weeks) there will be four more story locations, two of which featuring NPCs. One of them is a lively village featuring many interactable NPCs, and one of them is the dwelling of a very important character who you will get to meet! 1

Without spoiling too much, I will say that the second story chapter released in 1.20 really opens up the world. There's not a huge number of NPCs, but there's more than just a couple, and their personalities plus the space they inhabit is all fleshed out rather nicely. Depending on how much you want your world populated though, you might also want to look into the mods that @Brady_The linked. 1
